The guy will command massive wages. There will be a few big clubs interested, there's better value out there. Can't see Levy going for this.

He's 33 in a few weeks, so I'm not particularly convinced we'd go for someone like this as we'd need to be offering him more than an end-of-the-season deal.

It's not like he's even at Ibra level, who was still pretty peak for PSG at 34.

Very few clubs sign ageing superstars on mega wages.

Those who do either have more money than sense (Man Utd), or are horribly run (West Ham or AC Milan).

We don’t fall into either category.
Or the other category being, that they're still good players with something to offer.

That's not really a category of club tbf.

A player like that still applies to the categories @King of Otters mentioned. If he comes in one much higher wages than the other players, and is either crap (Falcao at Utd) or hardly plays (Falcao at Chelsea) then it can nuke a team's morale/finances.

On a free until end of season - definitely. On the basis that PSG obviously want more than £10m for him, it would be a bit reckless on our part.

Agree with that. Free or loan yes. Money for him at 33 no.

Until they aren’t. At which point we’re stuck with a player on huge wages with no sell on value. Sounds right up Levy’s street.

Liverpool are the most successful club in the world right now, with one of the best track records in recruitment in recent years. Do you think they’d entertain a signing like this for a second?

I wouldn't be against a paid loan in some aspects, Ade style, just don't think it would be clever to sign him permanently. At least on a loan with an expiry contract you've got some sort of motivation out of them, and aren't lumbered with them if they can't cut it.

They don't need to.

They have forward options

Until the club gets new owners whom are wanting success on the pitch there’s not much point paying attention to what the club are up to from a footballing perspective. We’re going backwards at a rate of knots and more importantly, the draconian decision makers are doing the square root of f’all to turn it around. We hear both Lewis and Levy are Spurs fans but when it comes to football matters they’re both completely clueless.

Do you remember the days when we had Berbatov, Keane, Defoe and even Bent? options and competition. These days we’ve an injury prone Kane and no one else... it’s an absolute joke.

Of course speaking of an absolute joke, you will remember that we sold all of those strikers and left ourselves with Bent and some absolute duffer on loan from Utd  - dear leader has big time previous for this.

How about a swap deal with CE... I can certainly see that. I do think Cavani is set for Atletico though...

And Eriksen set for Inter. Can't see Eriksen being used as a makeweight in any swap deal when he's free to negotiate with any club that best suits him
