Real Madrid makes work of dream transfer Van de Beek


AMSTERDAM - Tottenham Hotspur has made a futile attempt to incorporate Donny van de Beek (22). Sources around the London club report that the midfielder of Ajax indicated in the conversations that he preferred Real Madrid. De Koninklijke already reported to Ajax last summer, is now continuing and is prepared to pay the transfer fee of 55 million euros.

I'm a bit meh about him anyway to be honest but I'm not surprised he'd prefer Real Madrid to us. I always reckon the Dutch ain't that fussed about coming to England anyway they always seem to prefer the sunshine states, and I don't blame them to be honest.

In the summer it was said that Zidane preferred vdB ahead of Eriksen, probably still does. Maybe Perez gets vdB for Zidane and Eriksen for free because he wants him.

Real Madrid have never wanted Eriksen. If they did, they'd have signed him, cos Eriksen is an absolute slut for Real Madrid. But the poor lad got absolutely jilted by their disinterest.

Bruno Fernandes, Donny Van de Beek, Lorenzo Pellagrini... Being linked with a lot of players of a similar mould.

Personally I think that's one of the only position we're alright in with Alli, Lo Celso & Ndombele in the cm/cam role. I really feel like Lucas is so hit & miss when starting & competition right wing is much more needed with the formation we look set on playing now under Mourinho. Why not go for a versatile forward in Depay? Who has 18 months on his contract, in a failing Lyon side this season, and has been smashing for a good few years now.

Of the bunch, Van de Beek is the most complete of a player. Has the ability to get stuck in and maintain his defensive responsibilities when needed. Has the attacking capability of being very influential as well. Going forward hes similar to Gylfi but with defensive stoutness to him that would be very welcomed in our midfield.
