I can't see the hype surrounding Brooks.. I mean he is good but not great ... He is slow and not much ability to get away from opposition defender in tight situations .. I think Grealish and Eze both have far more in their lockers than Brooks ...

I would take Eze instead without hesitation. By far the most creative young AM in the lower leagues and homegrown to boot.

Criticism of Lamela aside this is a real need in our team going back to even before Eriksen left. Our composition looks like; 1 world class striker; 3-4 wingers/inside forwards with pace and finishing, but not renowned playmakers or passers; a few CMs who are tidy or athletic, but just don’t have the quality to pick a pass in the final 3rd or cross (Winks Sissoko Dele and Lamela)

it baffles me how there’s no one who actually wants the ball in our team in that 35-40 yards and in central area. there’s a massive Christian Eriksen sized hole in our attack progressions. Obviously last year’s signings were supposed to help, but what I’ve seen from Lo Celso it’s almost like playing Modric at the #10 under ‘Arry. He’s quality and has an eye for a pass and dynamism but isn’t quite the #10 playmaker that is going to bag 15 assists and provide final balls. And that’s OK, I think Lo Celso is wonderful deeper. Remains to be seen with NDombele but even if becomes good we need a gameplan off the bench who wins with passing, technical skill, and precision. Dele, Berg, Moura, Son, and Sissoko simply don’t tick the passing creativity boxes.

haven’t seen enough of Brooks recently to comment. But we could use a Lallana or even Kranjcar style playmaker off the bench.

Would be a like for like replacement for lallana. Not sure he’d be that happy with the same amount of game time. Besides are they going to spend that on a squad player? They are in pretty much the same position as us financially (but without a huge loan).

Although ... they don’t need to spend money in so many different areas.
We will also be spending at DCM, and likely RB, and possibly CB and back up striker also.
like Utd back in the day. It is so much easier to pool all your money into one top signing each year, when you all ready have an awesome starting 11.

it’d be a huge same but without major sales, I think we’ll struggle to find the money for Brooks. :-(
