There aren't many things more pathetic than a football fan giving his negative opinion of a player that is about to leave the club he supports for a bigger and better one.

I can just imagine a few Spurs fans that would jump on the "he only scores tap-ins and pens anyway" bandwagon if we ever come to sell Kane.

Some do it now!

Brooks was a very promising talent before his injury. He came back in the latter part of last season and although clearly not yet fully fit and up to match speed he showed enough glimpses of why people were so excited about him before he got crocked.

It's a risk. He's either going to be a complete flop or a star. If we go for him we should make the transfer fee heavily appearances based.

Personally I think he's worth the risk because of the type of player he is. He is best against parked bus defences. We already have plenty of players who are great at playing on the counter but we need someone for when we are chasing the game.

Have a feeling he’s our late window AM target or atleast one of them if there are multiple, could be had for a really good price.

Love him. But why oh why do we need another ATMF? We have a load of them already. We need a central controlling midfielder. Maybe, just maybe Ndombele can become this, although probably not. Subtleties. If we are prepared to get rid of 1,2or 3 then yep get him in.

Don’t Bournemouth want close to £40m for him? Levy is not paying that and I don’t blame him at all, the blokes had 1 good season and 1 meh season.

Firstly I apologise for ‘bumping’ this thread when there is no news (not from me anyway or any that I’m aware of).

but I am just curious to see if anyone thinks there is any chance of this happening? And if we even need or want him.

personally I think he’s got the potential to be a great player. and can play in centre mid. But we do have a huge squad.

Zero chance I'd say. We have too many attacking mids and we just signed Gareth Bale.

I think he would be a great option as an attacking creative midfielder but no chance this season imo.

Unless we are just trying to buy all the good Welsh players to make Bale feel at home.

I'd see the only chance as a buy and loan back but I highly doubt it's on the cards

Would prefer a homegrown DCM of similar quality to be honest.

I don't watch any Championship football, so don't have anyone in mind, but I think this is an area where we could strengthen.

Only if we sell a few players. I was impressed with him a couple of seasons ago but not sure we need him now really.

No space at all right now. Its no point for him sitting having his best position where he sits behind Dele, Gio and Tanguy in the pecking order.
Maybe one for next year to replace someone like Lucas.

Brooks at least is HG for both PL and Europe i believe.

The one we dont really have space for is Rodon. Our squad problems are really down to Davies & Doherty not counting as HG for Europe. It’s a huge problem. Not sure why we want to add to it with Rodon but no matter how promising he is, unless we can still shift Gazzaniga, Sissoko and cancel Gedson’s loan after yesterday, we shouldnt be touching it. Dier also is considered a foreign player but its the same for PL so its not as big a problem as Davies and Doherty.

Ally Gold hasn’t been clear recently but looking at his latest article, I do think Doherty counts as homegrown for EL.

The important point that in Jan 2012 when Doherty loaned out from Wolves to Hibernian that stilled count and registered with Wolves players or not?
If yes I think he can count as the associated quota in Europe
