Even if they did Leipzig are pretty attractive at the moment.

Considering that he left Barca for a club in Croatia to get development, I think that he would have prioritised his career even if a club like Utd tried to throw money at him.

Another missed opportunity there.

I’m sure we will want him in a years time and then bailing at the £60m+ price tag.
Yeah, but that's how RB roll, players are commodities with buy out clauses, only reason he moved there is he and his agent get paid and they know they get a chance to move again and get paid more. People losing their shit about players signing for the likes of RB ... It's a business.

Yes, a business we are not good at. This was an opportunity to buy a really good young player at a price below true “market” value because his club wanted to move him while they still could. He’d have been useful for a few seasons, and then if he wanted to leave for Barca in a few seasons, so be it - we’d have doubled our money by that point.

So we become a selling club again? ...

I can't keep up with what the fans want.

It does feel like the overwhelming priority now from the club's point of view after signing Fernandes (and I know that he is not the same type of midfield player as Olmo) is a striker. It seems like that's as far as the budget will stretch.

Yeah that budget that in the summer was going to cover a Trippier replacement that ended up signing a new contract, Dybala and an Eriksen replacement really has taken a hit after that big loan deal  .

This transfer just further proves to me the whole mantra that there aren't good players available in January to be an absolute farce and just an excuse. Haaland, Olmo, Van Dijk, Laporte just in the last few years incredibly talented players moving in January. There are so many clubs across the globe that are constantly open for shop.

I'll raise you the excuses that no striker wants to come to Spurs when Harry Kane is here and that it's more difficult for prem clubs to get deals done if you like.
