Wondered what all of that was about, there was about 15-20 stewards camped at the top of the Burnley fans in the East side of the NE corner. It all got a bit heated between them and the Spurs fans above, wondering if it all stemmed from this.

Maybe the England fans were not being racist in the games... just a thought. Had they been, I'm sure it would have been metioned.

Can't say we're not trying to tackle it.
Agreed, compared to a lot of other country's we're relatively well behaved, when you consider the 70's and 80's. Unfortunately, some people can't let go of the past.

I understand your point but my comment was more about the outrage at Bulgarian fans when we still have problems to solve at home

I don't understand this point? Did those newspapers say there's no racism in the UK?

True, and there will always be racism with us - in every country, but we have for the most part, put our house in order (as much as you can). We do get it, but it is largely isolated incidents with individuals. In mainland Europe, it's en-mass almost on a weekly basis. I just think we should not be embarrased about praising how far we've come - not perfect (never will be) - but we have led the world in stamping it out in sport. It's not like we're giving up on it, we still push for it to be eradicated.

I think we of all people (considering where we were and where we are now and what we're trying to achieve in the sport) have every right to call people out on it. The rest of the world was more than happy - delighted if i was being cynical - to jump on our backs in the bad old days. The difference is, ours is constructive, trying to stamp it out.

the outrage might be because when it happens over there (except Chelsea and Spam) it's large groups doing it that come over on the tv mic's picking it up. over here its 1 or 2 mindless individuals getting pulled up compared to larger groups

edit: now edited as just noticed in the 1st line I said here, not there.

It is peculiar though that Burnley does look to be a almost entirely English team, white English that is. White English coaches, White English players. OK, they've got a couple of Irish guys, I suppose. The one who technically is from New Zealand, was in fact raised in Bath.

What are you trying to say? A 13 year old does something stupid and racist, now the whole football club/town are racist?

Can we not judge a group of people on the actions of a minority.

That's called prejudice. Pre judging people.

Have no idea about the town mate, I couldn't even point it out on a map. But that the club is whiter than my white shirts, yeah I think that is strange, and I think it's OK to say that it is strange.
