Tottenham want to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea

Tottenham are pursuing a deal for Swansea City centre-half Joe Rodon before the domestic transfer deadline on October 16 but the clubs are someway apart in their valuations of the Wales international.

Rodon is not the only Championship defender Spurs have considered, with the club having also watched Bournemouth's Chris Mepham.

Not a name that would have come to my mind but now that we’ve been linked, I actually remember thinking he was a good player on the few occasions I’d seen him before he went to Bournemouth. He’d be a clear squad filler I imagine but could be a shrewd long term investment as he was very highly rated at one point.

If we have to sign someone but I’d not Skriniar/of that ilk then I’d definitely order a young high potential homegrown player to someone who has reached their ceiling and is no better than we have.

I dont know much of him, but remember him out of Bournemouth squad last season due to knee injury , requiring surgery. Looks like he is back this season and been playing well
