I reckon there is a rule that says someone is required to post "first goal is key" in the match thread before every match.

Someone posted it before the West Ham match, as usual. Turned out first three goals weren't key.
I wholeheartedly disagree. They were absolutely key... to us being the laughing stock of the league. That doesn't just happen by itself, you know.

A win takes us 2 points from the top, I know it is early but it is always good to be close to the top. After dropping 2 vital points last week when everyone else was losing, we cannot afford to do it again. Every big 6 side but Liverpool dropped points this week, we need to capitalize on that.

It's odd - we've chucked away some mega flimsey points this season, and have made some silly errors, which makes my current mind set quite difficult to explain...

I'm super confident. I just think we're such a good team now. Yes, we really need to sort CB and our defense more generally, but otherwise, we're looking pretty good.

It may be to do with the fact that we haven't played anyone good yet, but I think we're looking as good going forward as I've ever seen - possibly better

I think we'll win this

3-1

Considering the results during the weekend, a win tonight puts us close to the top. These are the kind of matches that we just have to win.

Your comment might have been sarcastic so apologies for not picking up on it but we've played United away which is never easy, and Southampton away who beat the league leaders yesterday. In the process scoring 11 goals. You can probably give us a bit of credit there!

It’ll be tight. Let’s just hope to God we don’t rely on our defence.

Haven't the time to look back through, but has anyone mentioned that this is a 'must win game' yet?

If not I'd like to make it clear....

This is a must win game.

Thankyou.

Fully expecting a tough test, but also expecting us to win.

It would be a travesty (given the other results over the weekend) if we don't capitalise by winning tonight.

Hopefully the early setbacks against Spam and Newcastle will hold us in good stead for the rest of the season.

I’m expecting a very frustrating match. Burnley are the definition of anti football. It’s going to be a boring slog trying to get a goal and hoping they don’t catch us on the break with a sucker punch.

If we score early we could get a few, but if it’s still 0-0 after thirty minutes or so I expect this thread to be full of thoroughly unpleasant comments about our midfield.

Hope we can get a win. Hope Burnley go down.

I think we get the early goal and beat them comfortably. They're not very good this season and will be in a relegation battle. They made a mistake not bringing in players.
