Doesn't seem to be a mainstay boxing thread here.

Thought I would kick start one.

Price just lost. Can't say I'm surprised. I like he chap, he really is a nice bloke but given his am pedigree I lays envisaged him losing before reaching the top level.

Audley about to go for redemption, for the 6th/7th/8th time?

Good call sugar ray. Yeah, shame about price but I don't rate him, so personally I'm not surprised he lost. Will be funny to see Fury's next fight.

I must say I have a soft spot for Audley. Have met him a couple of times ( once in Vegas when he hung up his phone CL in order to speak to me and once in Rpton boxing pub when training ) and he is a really nice fella.

Massively deluded at ties but a real nice bloke!

Would like to have seen Ian Lewison make the final in tonight's prizefighter. Has a bit of talent but never been committed enough it seems.

Perforated eardrum for Price they're saying. Would seriously affect anyone's balance.

Dammit anyway, I had big hopes for Price.

Qthe heavyweight division is seriously lacking any major talent IMO. Price has skills but he was never going to set the world on fire.

I still think Price is better the Fury but not sure either are particularly great. Price got caught by one and the perforated eardrum did him in the end but he should bounce back reasonably from that.

Think we'll have to wait to see how Anthony Joshua matures as a fighter, he certainly has the raw physical tools to be a dominant fighter but he's only been fighting a few years. Apparently he battered Fury in sparring.

Price still has a massive future imo. A perforated ear drum is very unfortunate but it's no reflection of his ability to take a punch.

He'll bounce back and get to a world title level within 18 months.

If he does then it will be because the HW division has got even worse. I don't rate either klitscko that much but neither would be bothered by price IMO.

I think Price will be back too but doubt he will actually win anything at world level. Absolutely gutted that Audley won the prizefighter, nothing against him personally, but he is a joke of a boxer and the thought of him thinking he can do it again will just contribute to the farce that the heavyweight division has become.

Love boxing but Heavyweights is not for me at the moment (although still watch it in vain hope:banghead:)

Brilliant stuff at some of the lower weights though and some seriously good fights coming up over the next few months.

We need another super 6 type tournament. That was the best thing to happen boxing for a long time as it meant a lot, and it brought the best fighters in the super middleweight division together.

Yeah, the heavyweight division is a joke. But the Klitschkos would have given any heavyweight in history problems because of their size, particularly Vitali. It's a shame they've had no competition.

I'm not so sure. I think either Tyson, foreman or Ali in their prime would of sparked out vitali within 6, maybe less. Well never know I guess but I would love to see those fights.

The below is from Audley Harrison yesterday-please please no. He didn't even try and against David Haye
He said: "It's been nine years in the wilderness trying to get back my mojo, and as you can see my mojo's back.
"I've let go of my demons and taken responsibility for my life. I'm 41 years of age, in the best shape of my life and I'm ready to finish my journey finally.
"This is my journey this year. Forget David Haye, forget David Price

(who knocked out Harrison inside a round in October) - I want the chance the prove now I've got it all together that I'm good enough to be a world champion

Sigh. Just cause he beat a trio of no hopers, he thinks he's the business again. Is there a more deluded person in boxing?

It is genuinely embarrassing isn't it-hope whoever he fights next puts him out in one round (still rankles with me that I paid for that Haye Harrison fight)

I won a few quid on that, had Haye to win within 3 rounds so was happy enough. A lot of people paid for it though, and were right to be pissed off.

Perforated ear drums doesn't automatically mean fight over, balance completely gone etc.

It's a decent excuse for the chicken dance that Price performed but only if you aren't aware of his chin issues back in the am days.

Thompson threw the shot slightly off balance and it was an arm shot, with little leverage.

Price can come again but the doubts will always be there now. Winning a world title? Can't see it myself. For a man of his size he has never really developed a ram rod jab and is easy to hit, relatively speaking. I hope he does well though, likeable chap.

Yep. The super six was fantastic in the main.

You are right about the Klits too. Vitali is awkward as anything, tough as old boots too. Huge and relatively powerful ( given his technique. He struggles to get weight behind his shots ) He gives a lot of the top heavyweights a fair bit of trouble. Can't see him beating them though. Wlad? Physical specimen. Has his detractors, can see why as he is seemingly boring with his safety first approach but I enjoy watching him fight sometimes. Very good footwork for a man is size ( million times better than say someone like Price for example ) and carries serious power.
It is a shame they haven't had much competition in their peak ( Wlads is now )

Fury tonight, channel 5.

Hoping to catch it at work as I'm on nights.

Could be his last fight on the channel. Cunningham should give him a bit to think about but think Tyson will take a decision.

I want to see him in with a "proper" heavy who can bang.

I'm not really a fan on Fury but unlike Haye, Chisora and Harrison he does regularly fight and seems to be ambitious in the ring.

Any idea what time the fight starts? The program begins at 9.30pm so I assume 10pm or hopefully a little earlier.
