Apparently Yarde doesn't spar in his training camp?
It was mentioned. Seems very strange to me.

Just finished listening to BBC boxing podcast's preview of the Yarde fight which has an interview with Yarde's trainer (Tunde Ajayi). He calls his training System 9 and apparently a year in his system is comparable to 5 years regular boxing training. It involves no competitive sparring ("I'm his best sparring partner. If he (Yarde) can deflect my shots, the master teacher, then there is nobody who can touch him") and no cardio workouts like long distance running.

Tunde is a bit of a nut job. He’s been pushing his new age techniques for yonks. He’s one of these who is obsessed with the pitter patter padwork ‘routines’ etc

The fighter makes the trainer for the most part, it’s not the other way round. Yarde would be a better fighter had he started boxing younger and had an extensive amateur career.

He left it all in the ring last night and come close to scaling the mountain in round 8. Great effort and showed serious courage and toughness.
Disappointed his corner didn’t pull him out though. After round 8 he had nothing left and was taking far too many shots. Poor cornerwork from the system 9 man

No Cardio and No sparring sounds like bullshit. He was 16-0 I haven’t seen any of his other fights TBH but that seems like pure madness

Tunde is a bit of a div and full of shit.

Mind you, from round 9 onwards, where Yarde could barely hold his hands up let alone thrown a meaningful punch, it certainly looked like a fighter who doesn’t spar or do much cardio...

In reality he had punched himself out. He was spent and a fighter who relies on reaction and reflex for his defence, well, that’s a recipe for disaster.

No sparring during training is fucking moronic. If I was his manager I would be telling him to move on from that coach ASAP. You can’t expect to go in to a fight against one of the worlds pound for pound greatest fighters and win without sparring. Nearly all my timing and rythym I feel is built up in sparring. Yarde is a fantastic talent, he will be wasted if he stays where he is in terms of coaching/training

That was a pretty good fight, Loma earned that and was more in control of the fight for most rounds. Shot to the guts though ended Linares. He's going to pee boxing gloves for a few days.

Just realised I was watching the BT Sport recap from earlier this year :D haha!

Had a snooze, woke up, started watching thinking, "Sure it was some other fella he was fighting" but the fight was enjoyable so I carried on hah! I'm such a dumbass.

He's a much bigger name than Taylor or his opponent, though. Surely that much is obvious? I don't think a super-series final could not be the main event though.
Yeah the tournament is the selling point. Chisora could piggyback the event and get paid or get his own event.

I maintain that Chisora alone isn’t a drawer but could get some buys considering his opponent.

Well one things for sure and that it should not be on Box Office. Another absolute piss take.
PPV is weak nowadays but as long as people pay then poor events will be PPV.

The tournament final, Chisora vs Parker and Burns vs Selby isn’t the worst card.

I am assuming the Burns fight is on the card.
