And the source is from the scum newspaper which one of the ITK's said recently was a good source on our transfer stuff now so might have some legs to it

Norwich would want £50 million for Godfrey

Ben Godfrey’s performances for Norwich are not going unnoticed by a number of Europe’s top sides. Borussia Dortmund and Lyon, two clubs who like tapping into the English market, have made checks on the 21-year-old centre-back, while Tottenham and Arsenal are also keeping an eye on his progress this season.

But The Athletic understands that Godfrey is rated so highly by Norwich that they would want around £50 million from any buying club. That valuation is gauged by Harry Maguire costing Manchester United £85 million and Adam Webster, who had only played Championship football, joining Brighton for £20 million from Bristol City.

Godfrey is captain of England under-21s and expected to make the step up to the seniors at some stage, while club sources believe he has many of the attributes required to become an elite defender, including exceptional speed and temperament.

I think they might try for 50m but I don't think they will get it.

Apparently Demiral is really really good - some Italian football pundits rate him higher than De Ligt, but I suppose he'll always be second fiddle when the other guy cost 70 million quid. I doubt they'd sell him but could be an inspired signing if we can get him.

Said they wouldn’t be listening to offers less than 30m, whether that’s true or not

For a 21 year old young international playing for Juve that's not bad at all, though they did only just buy him for £15 million so it's a quick markup. From the little I've seen he looks a proper brute of defender: very physical, quite quick and loves a tackle. I dunno what his passing or positional play is like, but he looked great against us in pre-season and I'd be excited if we signed him.

A quick google also shows United were scouting him a lot while Jose was in charge so the link makes sense. Just remains to be seen whether Juve would let him go (especially in Jan).

I bet they will try to sneak a buyback into the deal as well.

30m for a promising youngster (if he is that) is nothing.

Don’t Juventus need money? I thought that was part of the reason for Dybala’s availability in the summer

That's a really good point actually. They're paying tons for Ronny, Higuain is still on the books and now Dybala is clearly back in favour so they're gonna need to raise money somehow.

Didn't Juve only just sign him? Looks a very good defender though.
