And Ceballos. They pinched him from under our noses about 3 days after we'd walked away because there was no option to buy.

Luiz, Ozil and Mustafi have contracts until summer 2021. Difficult to shift any of them and if the numbers here are close to accurate that's going to cost them something like £45 million in wages -

https://www.spotrac.com/epl/arsenal-f.c/payroll/

Xhaka is contracted until 2023 at £100k/week. They probably could sell him at a loss but would he take a massive cut in money at age 27 to try to turn his career around? Can't see any PL clubs being interested even at a giveaway price.

That's the players they probably wish they could get rid of for salary/performance reasons (or both) but are probably stuck with for the foreseeable.

Nothing Ceballos has done suggests he'll want to stay or Arse will consider him worth what Madrid would want for him. That loan deal supposedly cost them £15 million.

Pepe? Supposedly a major talent but if he's being dragged down by the season they're having it's fair to say that Aubameyang and Lacazette haven't been. As bad as it's been, those two have probably enhanced their reputations by delivering while the club's in crisis -Pepe isn't even starting games. £72 million fee and £8 million/year wages? Huge gamble.

Aubameyang is not going to be there next year. Probably too old to want to run down his contract to 2021 but young enough and good enough to go to a top club for a good fee. If he doesn't sign a new contract he will surely be happy to go next summer and they'll be happy to get good money for him.

I've ignored their midfield because everyone does these days.

I know it's highly unlikely because theyll wriggle their way out of it but if they were relegated they would be in huge danger due to those facts you've presented

At one hand I kinda hope that Brendan Rogers will go to them and fuck Leicester up. At the other, after a pre season with Rogers, they will be a force to reckon with, which they will be more difficult deal with than Leicester next season.

Club accounts out

Then not getting CL this season is so important. Going to properly screw them over. It’s why I’ve been banging on about it since the summer. Players going and financial losses equal the club only going one way. Wages have gone up too!

Rodgers just signed an extension with Leicester. He's not going anywhere.

We say that every single season, but it's clear that it gets exponentially worse for them for every season away from the big money.

He has a release clause though. I guess it's just how much the scums want him and how much he wants to go.

Seriously, why would he go? There are no upsides.

The clause was 14m in the last contract, if it's still there it will be much higher now.

Remeber when their fans were creaming their pants at their transfer window??

Luiz has been an absolute disgrace. Pepe is Gervinho without the forehead and the biggest transfer flop in years. Ceballos was hailed the new Fabregas but he cant even dislodge reese Nelson. Spent 30m on a defender not available for the entire season and signed a Scottish left back thinking he would be as good as Robertson purely because he is a left back and Scottish. But turns out he cant even dislodge Saed Kolasinac

Valencia guy? Blimey..
They've put themselves into a situation where their options are severley limited.

Honestly think their board thought Ljungberg would have given them a lift til the end of the season and because that's not happened they are being forced to act with no direction.

It reminds me of us in the 90s, absolutely no idea on what we're doing, no forward planning at all.

I say 'blimey' as someone who has a soft spot for Los Che... Marcelino won a domestic pot with them. Whether he'd ever have been in this situation if Arsenal weren't desperate....its an amazing opportunity for him professionally but, jeeez, some fucking task.

Of course I hope whoever takes the job fucking fails miserably.
