Hopefully there'll be some kind of Moyes effect when he does leave although I expect Wenger to leave them in a better condition than Fergie did at Utd. For the rest of the teams who've mostly stayed in the Premiership high manager turnover seems to be the norm.

Sweet mother of ... Please, let Poch be the chosen one, and long may it last!

Embarrassing reading:
http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/in-18-years-that-arsene-wenger-has-been-at-arsenal-43-other-pl-teams-have-had-207-managers/#

One of those things. Only a few clubs can finish in the top 4 positions and get champions league. Its only natural in a league of 20 teams that some perform and others don't. Survival of the fittest comes to mind and unfortunately we haven't always made great appointments. It would be great if Poch gets a long run in the job but it will only happen if we achieve the stated goal within the correct period of time.

This league is a harsh environment and the only managers I regret us losing are Jol (who did a great job at a great time for us) and Harry. Other than those I think we were generally right to get rid of the managers we did.

Sherwood and Pleat were never going to be full time. Santini was a joke in the short time he bothered to give to us and unfortunately Ramos, Hoddle, Gross & Graham just didn't suit us or do well enough.

Hard to believe those 3 brought us to 3 finals, 2 of them victories.

I am happy that United have been struggling since Fergie left. Not just because it gave their fans a taste of what everyone else feels, but because it actually curbed the high horse mentality people have about clubs like Spurs going through managers to an extent.

It is piss easy to preach about giving managers time and sticking with them for x years when you're a club that has already got a winning formula that fits in with the club's ambitions/plans. As United found out, when that turns, it is pretty difficult to stick by someone who can't get you results when so much is at stake.

They spent 15-20 years preaching about how giving managers time brings you success, then went and did the exact opposite with the next manager they were forced to hire.

Striking that winning formula is the hardest thing to achieve in football, is it any wonder clubs are continually scratching around for it?

And then you had the old G18 clubs (including Arsenal) who for a while couldn't be shifted from their positions due to the advantage in revenues they had over everyone else. Not to take anything away from Wenger as a coach but the Arsenal job came along at just the right moment and he knew how to take advantage of the situation.

A lot of their fans would have sacked him years ago but imo keeping them in the Champions League every season has been worth more to them than a one off cup or league win would have been during their dry spell.

To echoe what Yido_number1 said, Pochettino will get plenty of time, providing he is doing well.

We were all calling for Levy to give AVB time, but how many of us were sad to see him go?

Chelsea have worked trough their fair share of managers and have remained competitive.
What Arsene Wenger has achieved at Arsenal is remarkable.

I wonder how many times the different managers on that chart crop up, and who's the most frequent?

What would have happened if we had hired Wenger instead of him going to Arse?

Bergkamp and Henry would be included amongst our legends and Campbell might have stayed here, basically we would be living in upside down world. It's one of those questions like "What if the nazis had won the war?"

I wonder if we would be different people as a result? Does our love of Spurs bring about an inherent, self-deprecating pessimism? Or was that an already existing trait that drew us to Spurs in the first place?

Anyway there is a parallel universe somewhere where Wenger has been Spurs boss for 18 years and I am having sex with Kate Moss right now.

Actually thinking about it a bit more, in that alternate reality of yours Wenger might have been sacked by Sugar and Kate Moss could be a gigantic heffer.
