I'dt we don't announce this as "Got Milik!" Then someone on the PR team needs a paddling...

I can only go by the youtube footage and he looks a good all round striker.
He can score outside the area, in the box and looks very good in the air, takes a decent penalty and scores free kicks as well.
Good technique and quite mobile, although not super fast, we have a lot of quick players to run off him, so that won't be an issue.
For the prices being quoted and at 26 years old, I think he's the best all round striker I've seen us linked with.
If Levy can get a loan deal, even better, then we can see how it works out and we don't have to worry about wasting money and have another Janssen on our hands.
We'll to be careful with the limited funds we have, so if Milik and Skriniar go through and maybe even a creative midfielder, what a window.
I am being realistic though and not getting carried away, although I prefer to be positive.

You forgot the possible midfielder as well:)

Very true. I’m just not getting my hopes up on that piece but really could be incredible. Think another midfielder is likely down to a bunch of departures which seem to be at a standstill at the moment.

Wow if those figures are correct (Loan w/ obligation to buy at £16.5mil) that would be massive. It also fits the pattern of Levy's signings, wait for the price to become clear, then swoop. Especially with us seeming to be the only club involved, this could be our man.

Yeah that would be an obscene deal for us - incredible stuff. Gotta say Levy has potentially knocked it out of the park this window - all credit to the guy.

Genuinely not a fucking clue what is going on with our chase of a striker. We've got Italian media and now English media picking up that we want Milik and we are in talks, but then we've got Alasdair Gold who has been excellent this summer saying our interest has cooled and we've had JJ previously alluding to it being Carlos Vinicius.

Well as Trix said somewhere I can't remember where but I read it in the last 10 minutes, Jose seems flexible with what striker he wants so guess we're waiting to see what the best deal we can get is.

Doesn't he only have 1 year left on his contract? So why would we loan him for one season then pay Napoli £16 million next summer when he will be a free agent?

I assume because we don't want to wait 12 months to get him, nor do we want to stump up the cash to buy him outright now. They are probably only willing to let him go on loan to us now if we agree to pay them £16m in 12 months, that only works if they extend his contract by a year.

It was reported yesterday Napoli will sign him to one year extension to facilitate a loan. It helps us too because it defers payment, so it's a win win.

He would sign for an extra year with Napoli to facilitate this arrangement. One year loan and purchase next summer.

Based on those figures in the Independent article, if a deal can be agreed today in that ballpark (loan + £16.5m) I think it would be hard to beat.
