Would anyone be against giving them £35-£40m + Toby, seeing as Alderweireld only cost us £11.5m and is offski next summer for £25m. This won't slaughter the club, it just means biting the bullet on any kind of profit made on the slick haired Belgian

Sounds like a great way to spend money to make our squad worse.

Plenty of easier ways to go about it if that's your end goal.

Is it though when Richarlison went for £50m??

Pretty sure that’s a figure that we however will not pay.
Yeah it is, that fee was 35 potentially up to 50. We have no idea what those caveats are to get to that number.

Just because Everton will pay stupid fees doesn't mean they're right.

That’s just one example of crazy fees that have been paid though.

What Levy needs to think about is when do transfer fees hit their top level. If he thinks they will continue to rise then £90m may be the price to pay.
If on the other hand there is suspicion that prices will drop in future windows because they are at a false high, he might feel it is too high a price to pay.
I personally am not confident the TV money will keep rolling in at its current levels and would be loathe to pay that much for Martial unless Man Utd are paying over the odds for Toby to offset the risk.
Onions.

Hmm French press saying PSG were offered him at 80m and refused (from a few days ago). Guessing if this 90m is legit they are inflating his price much like we are for Toby. Would they settle for Toby plus cash? I hope we try. I'd imagine Levy is probably still at the Martial + cash stage :ROFLMAO:

I think we should pay it, or close to it. Just get him in. His potential upside is enormous. He has the ability to easily become our best attacker after Kane if he clicks.

He clarified a tweet if I remember correctly that he was available for much less outside of England,

I'd happily give them £30m and Toby - surely there's a deal to be done?

You think Levy will sanction spending £90m on a footballer? It's not a £30m spend as you've lost the £60m you were wanting for Toby. We won't spend near that on anyone, they'll think why spend £90m on one when we can spend £45m on two.

It depends, it's feasible that he'd sell Toby for as low as £40m abroad (especially with the clause next year), but wants more like £60m for Toby to go to Utd. No different to Utd's stance really. Maybe he'd take that into account if negotiating a swap, maybe not.

Toby's probably worth around 40 mil and Martial around 50- 60 mil, so if we gave them 10-20 mil it would be a fair swap.

Agree, a swap with a max of £20 Mil from us will be fair, Martial has fallen out with Mourinho and Toby has burned his bridges with Dr Evil (Levy) :cautious: and Poch, so it makes sense, however if an agreement cannot be reached United and us will be stuck with disgruntled players until Jan at least, that will be a shame as Martial is perfect for us:)

I think a swap with Toby and Martial will happen in the last couple of days of the window. There's too little going on with Man U, Chelsea, us etc for there to not be some kind of activity happen soon surely
