It wasn't so much his positioning/not having a clue where he was that peed me off... it was his double brain fart where he dallied on the ball and tried to take on Aguero, picking up a stupid yellow card in the process. Then later on bringing the ball out of the back only to play a square suicidal pass straight to a City player. It's basic defending and he royally screwed it up. They're being rusty and then there's WTF moments like that.
You are not wrong, he was crap. But benefit of the doubt and all that.

It's a tough one as it's not a case of say Davies where he's done well for Wales but come nowhere near filling Rose's boots. With Wimmer he's been pants for Austria and us this season. It's worrying. I'm not saying flog him at the moment but his current form leaves us in a pickle with Verts injured and concerns over Toby. CCV is untested and Dier lacks positional awareness.

I'd try Davies as part of a CB 3 in a heartbeat I would, as I pointed to before the match vs. City. Carter-Vickers is more than capable, in fact I'd call him ready, but he covers for Alderweireld, not Vertonghen.

Strange it is only London clubs supposedly interested. I suspect they are just telling West Ham that Spurs and Chelsea want him to get them to hurry up and buy the doughnut.

Wimmer has been far from "pants". What are you basing that on? Let me guess, the one game against City.

"A tug of war between Spurs and West Ham". I've already lost attention to this post..

But on a serious note though, weren't we linked with Andrea a couple of seasons ago? Feels like he's one of those players that's always being linked to us during the transfer window
