Already being discussed in the Youth Thread. Apparently not been on the bench for a few games and Spurs are quite relaxed about it.

He coaches one of our age group teams, hardly time to panic. I can see why the club would be a bit miffed as they have guided his coaching career since his early retirement, but coaches want different challenges the same as players, and he's hardly the integral figurehead that say McDermott is.

We lost Alex Inglethorpe to Liverpool 4 years ago, was said to be a bitter blow at the time and worse than this.

It's not the end of the World but it is very worrying the way clubs like Man Utd try to monopolise everything.

Anyway, the most important part of an academy is the manager of the first team, if he's not interested in giving the kids a chance then it doesn't matter how good the academy is. We're very lucky to have Poch.

Key fact here is, McDermott heads up the setup, and he's already turned down Utd. If it was McDermott going, I could see that it would be a nervous time.
But, one coach from one age group is less of a concern.
McDermott still runs the show, and will no doubt handpick the new U18 coach. As a club, our current standing as an academy setup, should be a big draw to recruit almost any coach we want. May even be we have someone within we feel can step up, for the sake of continuity, and then backfill.

Agree with all of this, if the manager doesn't decide to use academy players it doesn't matter how good they are anyway. We've already read the majority of people wanting to buy around more players before giving anyone a chance, so I don't see why anyone would be concerned.
