100% with you on this.
So many fans can't seem to differentiate between the expectations of a 18/19 year old prospect compared to a 28 yr old player bought for the here and a now. I remember all the "waste of money" comments about Jack Clarke, and we've had the same for other young players...
No I mean ‘a lot of fans’ in various threads on here, and widely on social media. I admit it’s definitely not a majority, but narratives are being formed and double downed on now we have extended break before our next fixture.
Arteta had no previous experience of managing a football team. Lucking his way to a trophy in his first season was no reason to stick with him considering some of the dire results and league finishes they had in the following seasons.
Liverpool were no more dross than we were when Ange took...
Fans get too caught micro-analysing each match rather than zooming out and seeing the wider picture. Yeah getting thumped 4-0 is fucking annoying but it doesn't have to be the symptom of some fundamental issue that means Ange is doomed to failure - which seems to be the line a lot of fans seem...
Insane innit. Less than a season in with a new manager, new recruitment team, new signings, sitting 5th - and now we have ripping it all up and start again?
Now I know why rival fans mock us so much
- the entitlement is off the scale 😂
I’m not disputing any of that but surely none us know better than manager what he wants to fit his philosophy and squad?
As I said maybe Ange is happy with his existing direct wingers and wants a different profile of player.
You say he doesn’t fit the profile of what we’re after but if Ange is targeting him then maybe it means he is happy with his direct options - Werner(assuming we sign him), Johnson, Solomon, Son - and feels we need a Buena type profile of player.
He's just out of form. It's not uncommon for young players to go through these patches. He's got too much quality for him to be permanently written off.
We can improve but Chelsea's selling has only been good mainly because they did some dodgy deals with their saudi investors to get rid of their deadwood. Man City are able to sell players at their peak and replace with similar quality because of their success in recent seasons
The rest of the...
it really is mind blowing how some fans don’t learn to keep their mouth shut and give players a while to settle and show their best form, rather than trying to win a race to be the first to write them off.
I get what you're saying but I think Ange's style of football relies less on a traditional number 9 to hold up the ball and bring others into play. Our attacking play is focused more on the wing play and cut backs, meaning the striker needs to be more of a poacher than a target man.
Aston Villa drew with west ham the same as us right? They're a tough team to play. I really don't get the concern with the result/performance yesterday.
We were excellent for the first 30-35 minutes yesterday and still dominated most of the second half. Moyes is a very experienced manager...
I just don't think he has the creative passing to compete with Maddison. As someone else said in this thread I really think with his ball carrying, strength and tactical awareness he is much more of an 8 than a 10. In fact I see shades of a young Bastian Schweinsteiger in his ability and future...
Prepared to be stunned.
The case against them is much harder to prove as it comes down to proving they falsified revenue streams. The FA don't only have to prove they lied but also that the execs from their apparent sponsored have lied as well. Not easy to do when Man City can spend whatever...
