I don't think i've ever seen Aarons have a really good game. I still don't understand everyone banging on about him, so distinctly average or below par. Zero upgrade on KWP, pointless waste of transfer funds for me.
You obviously haven’t been watching the United-Southampton game to be posting this at the moment. He’s been fleeced for both of United’s goals.

He's much better offensively than KWP.

KWP is a known quantity for us - He looks superb against teams that has no pacy winger and bad against pacy wingers...
But I would still keep him, if we are going to buy Aarons...simply because Aarons has shown this season, he has no defensive qualities. So many defensive errors and mistakes even when under no pressure. I happen to see quite a few of Norwich games - I have no doubt he is a good attacking RB but big defensive liability

Aarons turned 20 midway through the season and it was his first campaign in the top flight. It's premature to write off a young defender with such little experience, how did Rose and Walker look at age 19?

I am sorry...We cant say, "if he is good enough , he is old enough" as a football saying...and also say, he is 19 or 20, we will forget what we saw with our own eyes and he will prove us right in future...

I can only go by the evidence.

We already shot us in the foot with Sessegnon - we bought him for 30m, inspite of him having a ordinary first season at Fulham. This season is a write off for him as he gets used to us..whatever that means.

My simple point is, we need RB - first choice & second choice. NOW. Not in 2 years, not in 3 years. If Max Aarons is struggling in PL in July 2020, how does he become better in Sep2020 ???

We cant take chances on a player who has been bang average in defense. We already have 1 in Aurier which most fans want us to get rid.

Why dont we just say - lets go out to market and buy the best possible RB suited to us and ready to kick on now; And stop wasting time on average players and hope they may come good in 2 years

Problem is Norwich got promoted and didn't sign one player and that's why they are going straight back down. Aaron's and cantwell will be much improved players with PL players around them

Its just pure hypothesis for now. We need a RB whose primary job is to defend, given the number of goals we have conceded this season.

We cant afford to take chances. We need solid proven players at RB - not unproven or defensively questionable players.

We can do better than Aarons. Only reason most still talk about him is, we showed interest when Poch was around last season when he broke out in championship. For that reason, I cant see Jose opting for him anyway

I don’t get the point of posts like this.
is it a “told you so” in advance?
Or is it a “don’t get your hopes up” kind of comment.
Because if there’s one clear aspect about supporting Spurs (at least in my lifetime), it’s exactly the opposite- that’s all spurs have offered- Building my hopes up!

calm your tits, it was meant as a bit of humor.

I hope we dont sign Aarons - he is not a good defensive RB. He has made so many defensive mistakes - it cant be ignored.
Ajax have Tagliafico on potential sell list. It would be wonderful to have a fullback options of Tagliafico, Castagne,Davies, Tanganga
I believe the reason why Aaron’s is on any list is due to his homegrown status

Sorry wasn’t meant as a direct dig at you. Had just seen several responses to positive, forward thinking posts in a number of threads that were along this line, all doom and gloom.
Hard to decipher those who are being serious (and boring) and those who are being ironic
Apologies

Castagne and Aarons would be fine additions at the expense of losing Aurier or even Davies. The fact that we have expectations of Cirkin and Sessegnon providing competition at LB in the next few years means that Castagne could cover LB until one of them is ready.
I thought this but suggested it in the PEH thread and got loads of funny ratings lol, mabye we are wrong?

Versatility is nice, but I wouldn't want him to be the first choice left back. He can play on the left, doesn't mean he is a left sided player. If we signed him I wouldn't be surprised to see Davies still being picked first.

Yeah I’d prefer him on right, although Mourinho does seem keen on a Cirkin so he may be seen more as back up for Davies unless he is loaned.
