I was always sceptical with this move as I didn't think he was worth bringing in, especially when considering what we had etc and how much he was valued. I was also not one of those laughing at us losing Onomah and money for him, but as Onomah was never gonna play here and Sessegnon was still a talent who cares, that's the club's decision.

Now he's here, I'm not upset, I'm pleased as he's always been a talented LB and he still has the potential to be top class. But for me his is more of a FB and I've never been convinced of him as a winger. I don't think he has enough ability with the ball at his feet to do that, his strength is arriving late, spacial awareness and finishing. It's annoying though as I think Cirkin is the best LB we've produced for ages, and I would be against signing RS for that now. But he is talented and I believe has a lot of potential and could be top class. As we have them both I think we should use RS further forward for now, as he has shown he can play there and help bring back his confidence. I also believe that Cirkin is a better LB atm so should get the chance there. It makes little sense stifling them both as they are both massive talents, and then we can see where both are in a years time.

Agree, unless Cirkin is a really special talent.
How about having both involved.

It was only 2 years ago Sess was winning player of the year in the championship.

This is what made Poch so good for a club like ours, he saw the positives outweigh the negatives (maybe the odd mistake) of bringing in the youth.

I think Sess gets a lot of stick when he’s arguably had fewer opportunities to show what he can do than Ndombele. Let’s give him another season at least. And I’d add that I still don’t see the point of playing him at LB or even LWB. Even when relatively uninvolved for Fulham, he showed an uncanny knack of being in the right place (in front of goal) at the right time. That’s something you can’t teach, and I’d really like to see him being given a run of games - now being the perfect time - as a left-sided forward.

He has so much quality.
He struggles in the squad because he has yet to nail down one position. He also arrived and got a nasty injury. When he last had. run of games he had a stinker. Patience.
I think a pre-season where the coaches can go over the nuances of playing left back with him and evreryhting will be OK. I still think he will be amazing.

I think 'so much quality' is a tad Spursy. We do love to build up a player. I don't think even before he joined us that he stood out as having exceptional talent. He seems decent and has shown nothing to change this opinion to date.

The one area that really worries me is his timid mindset, he doesn't seem to have that match day mindset, where he really wants it and lacks a certain intensity you'd want in a player. He is young so i'm hopeful but so far, huge disappointment for the money paid.

I doubt we will play it again this season, but if we line up 442 then he’s perfect for the left wing and should get a chance.

Really don't get the hype with this lad, frankly. If we can mug Barcelona off and take a couple of good players, i.e. Semedo, Rakitic, Dembele etc, then I would definitely go for it.

In what world do you think we will get 2 of those players in exchange for Ryan Sessegnon?

intriguing that Barcelona is interested but given their recruitment the last 4 years, is that a good thing?! they have been absolutely poor in the players & fees they pay. They could only afford a swap deal at this point and not sure who we would take. Coutinho straight up would never happen, Semedo would be good but not in a 1 for 1. Umtiti also? Their no. 6's are Frenkie de Jong who is going nowhere and Busquets who wouldnt leave the club and is older.

Didn’t they buy a young LB we got a few links with from Betis or Sevilla last summer?

Sessegnon for Semedo would be interesting. Semedo & Aarons would be a welcome pair at RB.

If Jose's plan is to turn Lucas into an effective defensive LW, I would then like to see Sessegnon played at LB. Davies is very rarely interested in attacking down the left and we could do with Ryan's pace and crossing ability on the left.

Exactly this, you see top 4 young talents coming on as subs or starting that look electric! Want the ball, run at players etc. Sess looks like a rabbit in the headlights. maybe it’s us that are hampering his development? Not playing him or even sticking him in the squad seems odd tbf.
