Lol everyone can ‘doh’ me but it’s the truth lol, “give him time” time for what?
And then the same persons will be saying Jose out in a few months. Same way people now realises it wasn’t fully Poch fault we played so bad

I was typing my comment above the same time you posted. I'm in the boat of "give Jose time" but I also blame the players and Levy way more than I blamed Poch. Give Jose time to see what he can do with some new players. Just because Levy is shit and the players have been shit a lot, doesn't mean Jose is.

Lol come on now Jose has proven to be done at a high level since the second half of 2015 and I’ve said this so many times now. And why give him time when it’s not gonna work, Levy should just bite the sour apple now and appoint a manager who we can rebuild with

A. How are you sure that's the case
B. How's are you sure any new manager will be successful considering he'd inherit the same squad of players.

I'm no Jose fan but credit where credit is due, he got a lot right today.

Since the end of 2015, Jose has finished 2nd in the Premier League and won three trophies in England, one of them European.

He also won two trophies in 2015, including the Premier League itself.

Perhaps your "proof" threshold needs a rethink?

First of all I also gave him credit for today

A) Because from what I’ve seen in his third season at Chelsea, his period at United and with us. He’s not showed me anything that tells me he’s improved and modernised as a manager. He doesn’t know how to set up a attack without counter attacks and individual performances

B) Of course you can never be sure that any manager will work out but we desperately need a rebuild and he’s not the man for that. We need to make our squad younger and he prefers older and more experienced players

For me I didn't learn anything new, and can only repeat what I have said so far re. Jose.

Today/big matches suit him best. He can comfortably play his preferred style and play to what his coaching strengths are - sit deeper, more rigid shape, give up the ball, defend stoutly, counter fast and exploit the space.

The question is those 'smaller' games. Where those teams nowadays just sit very deep and you're forced to have the ball, be the protagonist, have to play at a slower tempo, in a more precise and intricate nature and with more fludity. This is where in my opinion he has struggled to adapt to the modern game and so far we've seen a complete lack of idea and tactical nous/framework as to how we're going about our work and playing coherent football. He/his teams just aren't comfortable playing in this fashion, and it will be finding the solutions to this that are the biggest factor in how his tenure plays out.

Looool everyone uses the same trash arguments all the time. Since the end of 2015 he’s been schooled by Conte and Pep despite spending 419(!)M. His job as a United manager was to win the league and he failed. End of story, clown

Players are players ... What is it with older and experienced players with younger players? What exactly wrong with older players if they can do the job that younger players cant and vice versa?

The man has no understanding of football just lucked out in his career. He is only about team shape and organisation. He does not care about the game. It is all about his own ego. The talk about not being born a Spurs fan just creeped me out.

He failed because when BOTH him and Pep spent big in their first season they realised they had a lot more work to do.

Pep was allowed to rip everything up, binning his new gk (Bravo) off in the process and spend a further 200m

Jose was told he had limited funds to do it but was still expected to win the league.

He got on with it, finished 2nd but realised they needed so much more to beat this City side who already had the core in place before Pep arrived (Silva. Aguero, De Bruyne, Kompany, Fernandinho).

In contrast Jose had Jones, Smalling, Valencia, an ageing Rooney, De Gea, Young as his core with Rashford who was still very raw, Bailly who was supposed to be his defensive rock but got injured and Pogba and Martial - two players who respond better to positive messages and hugs than his style.

It was doomed to fail from the start and he took that job because he wanted to get right back into the game. He admitted he took it without looking at the whole picture first.

At least with us he won't have that level of pressure to win right now, so he'll be afforded a bit of time to get the balance right. The issue will be of he can get players who he wants and if the players can stay motivated for long enough but I think if he was to win a cup next year the players will have more belief and dig in.

Those smaller games is where he must adapt if he's to be truly successful here.
