So, it was all somebody else's fault then. That's a surprise.

He's not wrong though, between that and the Norwood incident some of our players checked out again. So it's okay for us as a fan base to question them under multiple managers, yet Jose brings it up and it's an excuse?

Some of you need to be more pragmatic.

It was kind of a joke. Never mind.

The PLs implementation of VAR has practically killed my interest.
As soon as that “handball” Was given and we didn’t get the free kick I lost all interest.
I have found this season very difficult to enjoy, not just because we’ve been pretty ropey but every other team has been screwed at some point (ok not pool) and it just takes the enjoyment out of it.
Last night my sky app was about 30secs behind play and I got a text saying potential handball before Kane had scored.
As mentioned in the match thread I was bitterly disappointed not to see some fire and indignation from us. We just accepted it and rolled over. For a few yrs we looked like we cared and had players that would fight, now we look disinterested. Pathetic.

The VAR decision has been by far the worst so far. The elbow on Son was also hard to stomach that should have been a straight red. Having said that we were playing Sheff Utd for god sake, no disrespect to them but we should not lose 1-0 to these guys let alone 3 and to muster only 2 shots in 94mins of football is shocking. No way is this Jose's fault, this is the same team practically who threw Poch under the bus and the same will happen to Jose. Levy must decide if he still wants to play with the big boys or go back to mid-table mediocrity. This season is now gone, good luck to Sheff Utd in their pursuit of Europe. We have a massive rebuild (again) and it starts in August.

The officiating was right actually - it's just a stupid rule. Football isn't like Rugby where 'advantage' is played and then play is brought back if no advantage occurs. In football, once advantage is played it's done deal whatever happens next. That could do with changing IMO.

He certainly could have gone back and given the free-kick, happens all the time. Agree it is not like Rugby where you can go back to the offence a minute later, but the timing between playing the advantage and no advantage accruing because of the handball was blink of an eyelid, and referee had probably not even shouted out "Advantage" so players were aware. It was his error, and apparently he admitted afterwards he made an error by not coming back to free-kick.

It is the law that needs changing though, VAR got it correct, although protocol should allow VAR to advise that the referee should have restarted with a Spurs free-kick, but it doesn't (and we would have blasted free-kick into wall or stands anyway if given)

Obviously all that has happened is VAR told him Moura handled ball, and he automatically gave them a free-kick for that, forgetting that the offence that caused the unintentional handball was by Sheff Utd.

Our players need a bit more steel about them. Sulking every time a VAR decision goes against them isn't the way to go. They need to get up and carry on and use those decisions (correct or incorrect) to drive them on . The same happened at Leicester last year when Son's goal was ruled offside. The player couldn't deal with the injustice and went on to lose the game when we were very much in the driving seat.

VAR is pretty shit really. The thing that pisses me off is this whole 'letter of the law' bollocks. It's completely removed the human and emotional side of decision making. Jamie Redknapp was right last night - no common sense applied, just Michael Oliver sat in a room applying the letter of the law like a fucking robot.

The fact that the ball brushing his arm didn't create a chance for Kane, it was the Sheffield playing smashing the ball off Moura's back that caused the ball to drop to Kane. The whole thing stinks.

And don't get me started on the Norwood second yellow that should of happened. Poor refereeing on 2 occasions.

I think we might have got over the disallowed goal, but as soon as the Norwood elbow decision went against us I knew we were losing.

How that wasn't even checked by VAR is one of the biggest jokes so far this season in any game, it pissed me off more than the disallowed goal. He literally glances at Son before leading with the elbow and making contact. That's a straight red any day of the week, let alone a second yellow.

But nah, plucky Sheffield United blah blah blah.

Is the consensus that it was a handball?

like everyone else I watched the countless playbacks from various angles, but saw nothing conclusive?

yes, the law is an ass but I cant appreciate how they reached the verdict they did regardless of that.

shocking performance though, we clearly have one too many up top waiting for service and one too few in the mids delivering it

Mourinho is all about excuses. He cant take responsibility. I was really think that is experiences with the different teams would help us...maybe he would find the right solution...but to me he has no idea.He looks lost.
Negative tactics, tons if excuses,no flow to our game and the most important thing for me is he has no respect for creativity and it's the very think we lack.
Poch had a plan.To me that too was limited. We needed a big continuous supply of uber athletes with him.So it did work for a while until we list the uber tag.
We lack football brains at Tottenham.
Passing is all recycled shit a lot of the time.No ingenuity.
Other teams added some uber but a lot at the top have more creative brains than we have and even the mediocre clubs have the type if systems that help. We are going nowhere right now and without any vision in management from the top down. Its not looking good infact all we are left with is complaining about VAR

It would have been checked by VAR, but it wasn't a thrown elbow (was move forearm placed placed on the side of the face), so certainly was not a straight red card offence.
Should have been a second yellow though, which VAR cannot advise.

Doesn't matter if it's thrown. I always thought the expression was "leading with the elbow" which is exactly what he did.

Needs to stop blaming the Ref & VAR, which were bad, but no where near as bad as his lack of tactical nous & the inept performance on the pitch.
