It's the same answer he's always given. The problem is that for the first time since his breakthrough we have clearly gone backwards and are miles away from competing for trophies.

Given the massive disruption caused by coronavirus I can't see him being sold in the next transfer window, however. I can only assume that prices will be pushed down across the board as buying clubs have less money to spend and selling clubs have greater need than ever for cash injections. With Kane under contract until 2024 I can't imagine Levy will sell him in that environment.

So we'll likely get one more crack at the whip to build a squad that Kane believes is good enough to meet his ambition. We're going to have to buy incredibly well and make major progress next season or else we'll lose him in 2021, IMO.
Trouble is, will we have any funds to buy anything, let alone incredibly well?

I agree with this.

On the other hand I'd like to put up that Kane hasn't exactly progressed himself. In fact I think he has had a pretty miserable (by the standard we hold him to) last 12-18 months or so. Our winning run last year came without him in the side. He was pretty ineffective in most games he played this past fall with the holdup play and linkup play notably lacking. I suppose the summer 2018 to winter 2018 was a decent period statswise, but I still don't think that was his best form in terms of dominating on the pitch. And sure, injuries play a big role in that, I'm not questioning his attitude or anything - but what's done is done and he has had those injuries now and has to live/progress with them.

So IMO it's one thing for him to say the club needs to progress (and I agree), but so does he.

I think his all round game has progressed actually. His passing has gone up a level ( I think due to his deeper role in the England team).

I agree though that he hasn’t been as dominant and explosive as he was before, but I think that’s simply down to a combination of being overplayed and his injuries.

An actual positive during these bleak times, Kane will be fit when we resume and not rushed back! ??

Wonder if likes of Bergwijn and Son will be back?

Kane will be retired by the time we start playing sports again?

I'll preface this by saying he's our talisman and we must do everything we can to keep him.

However, the people saying he deserves better are full of shite. He was surrounded by the best team in England, in my opinion, for two straight seasons and a top 3 team for a further two years, and had the chance to compete in title races, semi-finals, and finals with us. We've come up short on every occasion thus far, and he's equally culpable to all of the other players, as well as the manager(s). It's not as if he's scoring 6 a game and we're conceding 7. He's not single-handedly carrying us. He's a phenomenal player, the best striker in the world perhaps, but he doesn't "deserve" shit.

I’m fine with his comments. If we show ambition he’ll stay, if we don’t, he’ll leave. That’s the way it should be.

Not sure we will see many big transfers this year - though could be wrong - but seems unlikely due to the uncertainties, least of all financially. Though I must say I always thought he might go after the euros, and with them being delayed a year, that's probably even more likely, unless we really turn it back around this coming season, which is always a possibility despite the negativity here. As for his fee, it will likely be less astronomical than it could have been in recent years even if this settles down economically a bit. But of course, potential replacements or other signings would also be equivalently cheaper percentage-wise, give or take, so that isnt a huge issue. This break for him could determine the second half of his career, what form he comes back with and how his body feels will be pivotal.

Kane isn't saying anything new. He's always said as long as we're competing and heading in the right direction he would be happy to stay. Now it's up to Mourinho/Levy to steer us in the right direction. Whether that happens remains to be seen - I'm definitely pessimistic that it will with the current manager.

Either way I don't see Kane leaving this summer. The fallout of the global pandemic will have all sorts of impact on the transfer window and no club will have the ability to make the deal happen at the world record fee Levy will demand, for a player with 4 years left on his contract.

Sorry but he knows the questions he’s gonna be asked. No need to put himself in that situation. Personally I don’t care about any player staying or going it’s part of football. I think it’s pretty poor on Kane’s doing a live chat with a sky sports pundit during this climate, he knows it’s gonna create headlines even if it was that he’s staying forever. We need leadership from the captain of the nation game not this nonsense.

And the fact the team have been pretty shit for the last year and half.
Kane used to score loads but also had lots of shots.
If we only get in the oppositions half 3 times a match and spend most of it playing tippy tappy across the back 4 as we have in that time he will suffer as any striker would.
We used to dominate the shit out of teams. They were scared to come out of their own half. That is miles off where we are now so how anyone can expect Kane to look just as deadly is frankly laughable.

Cmon, bed time for you.
I feel sorry for you I really do

A player who has regressed and is out every season with 1 or 2 big inuries taking him out for months, doesn't matter how much he supports tottenham or how much people value him, he doesn't want to be here, so get rid of him

I think that was the entire point, to send a message out.

It's all a moot point really, because we're going to win the league, when the new season starts :)

Seriously though, who knows what the footballing landscape will look like after the CV pandemic. But with 2 or 3 signings and the current talent level in the squad, there's no reason why we can't aim for the title.

I think we're a lot better than some on here realise.

Maybe but to me it shows how out of touch footballers are. I mean with everything that’s going on who really gives a fuck if a player stays or goes.

Looks to me he’s been paid by sky sports to do an online q’n’a. Just totally poor for me.
