The players and the club's care. Remember not all professional players are Premier league millionaires. For lower league clubs and players, it's all about paying wages to staff and mortgages too!!

Yes but loads of people are losing money not just footballers , the virus is not a respector of borders, nationality , time , contracts or anything. When it is over football can resume but that may not be until August/September so contracts will have to be rewritten.

Sorry, but that's just not how it works. Many players are unemployed come July the 1st if they don't sign a new contract. The virus is here whatever happens in football, but in every other walk of life a huge biproductof all this illness is people not losing jobs and business staying afloat. Why should football clubs and players be different?

The answer is they shouldn't.

I'm not trying to say at any point football is more important than the health issues, of course it's not. This thread though is about how to manage the situation from a footballing stand point, and going past the 30th of June creates all kinds of issues which is why it's being discussed, and the repercussions if it should go beyond this point are potentially far worse than if they don't.

Jabier Tebas president of La Liga has said in the media that there will be a big decission made next week. If they have to they will cancell this season.

If la liga or serie a void the season...the rest will follow

Just waiting for someone to start the ball rolling

I can see the La Liga clubs being less against that idea too.

All the relegation teams will want it voiding, even those above it would probably be more in favour of that than continuing the season.

Considering the league is heavily favoured towards Barca and Madrid, I can see both of them voiding the season rather than continuing as both have been poor and probably are not exactly super confident about winning the title should it to continue. Seen as Barca are top they may try claim the title but as it's only two points they'll have a weak argument and when it comes to choosing they'll probably select null and void.

Can see La Liga not having as much as a fight with clubs like the PL. Only club who may put up resistance is Sociedad as they are in CL places.

Surely it has to come down to UEFA as finishing CL is their priority and that has to be coordinated to fit any league games around. As things stand we’d possibly be the last major league ready. Italy Spain France Germany are all ahead of us.

If they play games behind closed doors then Liverpool could win the league after just 2 games. Can anyone reasonably expect fans to stay at home if that happened?

Sky are utterly ridiculous with the scouse thing.
People are dead and dying over this schools are closing
London facing potential lock down
People turning feral over a feckin bog roll

I have just shut down my business in order to help some of my elderly customers and my old mum and the wife's mum and dad and no I cant afford it but hey what about a bunch of scouse ignorant selfish twats getting a little tin pot and feeding there sense of superiority.

Feck me I have just heard on sky that we should just cancel next season so we can finish this one for poor old liverpool.

Feckin inbreds john barnes is a twat.

Rant over :cautious:

It is imperative that the season is voided as of now for the safety and well being of the country.

And to send Full Kit Wanker Klopp and his cult into meltdown.

Some things are more important than football, lads.

You'd think that a company of their size might consider offering a couple of months free of charge.
It’s always the least skilled/junior people who will suffer. Continuing to pay as I can afford it until they say they are laying them off is what I’m doing.

It's decent of you but why should you have to do that? No way are Comcast short of money.
