Was just reading sky will let you "pause" your sports subscription with them, if you have it, due to no live sports. It was from the sun though.

SKY SPORTS are giving customers the chance to pause their subscriptions for free to save them shelling out for cancelled events.

The coronavirus outbreak has seen the vast majority of sporting fixtures postponed or scrapped entirely.

Has anyone phoned Sky or BT yet to cancel because there is no live sport? I might try it tomorrow and see what their reactions are

Now TV

Go to their site.
Say you want to cancel
Select the "I can't afford it option"
Ignore the "Are you sure prompts"
When they offer 3 months at a reduced price say yes.

Because of my job I am usually away from home when a match is on (w/e and evenings) so I only have the mobile Premier League offering. Instead of £5.99 a month I now have it for £1 for three months.

You can use the same ploy with virtually all subscription services. They want you to stay and will almost always offer a deal. Occasionally they don't offer anything and I just decide whether to sign up again.

June 30th seems to be the date they have provisionaly set to get the seasons competed provided the situation improves.
If it's not it will simply become a contracts minefield. Don't forget there are already a good number of players that have signed pre contracts with other clubs.

Barnsley CEO just said June 30th has to be cut off impossible to go beyond that date for numerous reasons.

Some clarity from UEFA chief:

- leagues won’t stand as us they would have to be complete

- Doesn’t straight out say but implies if not complete by 30th will be void.

The understanding in the PSG camp is that the season will be completed. They are not contemplating a null and void situation.

I imagine most clubs are thinking the same

Not much point in setting dates like June 30th as a cut off date as the virus might have other ideas, the number of cases in Italy is quite shocking , we could end up the same.

They have to set a date, and June 30th is by far the most realistic. Like I've stated players are contracted until that date.

Liverpool from what I'm aware are the only club I Europe with their position pretty much known. Once players start leaving clubs it no longer becomes a level playing field for all those fighting for places. If it goes past that date is frankly be amazed. The law suits against the governing bodies would certainly come thick and fast if that were to happen.

I am making an exception to post on this from my heart. My extremely close friend of mine has been diagnosed with Covid-19. Just found out today his five kids and wife have it. He is a professional artist/musician. 2 of the other artists picked it up from him two weeks ago, diagnosed today. It was concluded they picked up the virus from a studio session couple week ago.

Now they are going through ‘quarantine’ and if condition does not improve in the next 5 days, my friend has to go into an isolated hospital unit. What am I saying this all for? Our health is far more important than football, and arguing should the season be allowed to finish. Then all these F’ng ridiculous law suits that is a possibility. And Liverpool being robbed of their potential title.

This is a pandemic! Football isn’t! How on earth we are contemplating finishing off the season by end of June is beyond comprehension! Every day more deaths, schools closing, and more. It has not even peaked yet over here, and regrettably it will in the next couple months. Now playing behind closed doors to preserve the integrity of the competition? Really? The authorities should question their integrity to complete domestic seasons in the midst of a pandemic. F’ng ridiculous!

I feel like us up north aren’t really worried enough yet. Is your friend really struggling with it?

Regards football I can’t anything else but voiding the season. Best wishes to your friend.

Agree, and realistically there won't be any football until we're past the winter - which is going to be the hardest part of this. We'll look back on discussing even the possibility of finishing this season and laugh.

This is all true but this pandemic is something no one could have planned for and no one can accurately predict when it will end the forecast earlier was that it was going to peak in June in the UK, also Governments in Europe may forbid travel for everyone then what are the PL or UEFA going to do..

If there are law suits against governing bodies then there may be a case of force majeure , have to leave that one to the lawyers and who really cares that footballers contracts end on June 30th .

The players and the club's care. Remember not all professional players are Premier league millionaires. For lower league clubs and players, it's all about paying wages to staff and mortgages too!!

I have written about this several times and been told that I am wrong and Phil Thompson is correct .
Well if I have to hear him anymore go on about how the remaining games must be played no matter what and one of his reasons is that the World Cup is to be played mid season and no mention of how corrupt the decision to hold the world mid season was .
So because a corrupt decision was made its OK to decide to fulfil a season that any right minded person would say at this moment in time football does not matter and the greater good is much more important . As I have said the vested interest guides all opinions I just hope no one in his family get this virus but if they did I am sure his need for Liverpool to be crowned champions would disappear .
once again there is no integrity in football .

Sky sports are making me sick. My payment is due tomorrow otherwise I would have cancelled this week. Just want to see what happens in the meeting tomorrow. But will be my last payment to them. Their self obsessed coverage is now at the point of being distasteful.
