1. That's an optimistic estimate of proportions. I'd say it's more like 1 in 100.
2. Whatever the number is they are everywhere and they are invariably the loudest person in the block.

What with being told to sit down and be quiet by our own stewards and having the only fans noise as constant foul-mouthed complaints about players, it's getting to West Ham levels of toxic atmosphere in the new stadium.

How would you know considering you ‘don’t go to games anymore’?

Absolutely agree, if being provoked by arseholes in the ground is something you can't cope with then maybe a professional athlete isn't for you?!?!?

However, I love Dier and have a soft spot for his "take shit from no one attitude" - he will be fairly heavily punished for this I'd think, which another blow on top of everything else - as you say, shambles.

I don’t dislike Dier, despite him not being very good anymore, but you can’t really defend him charging up the stands to fight our own fans unless his brother was actually being attacked.

How can you say that without knowing what was said? I’ve heard some awful awful things at Spurs, people wishing players get cancer and the likes. Now imagine you’re Eric Dier, his brother has heard some scumbag say that, reacted, and in turn is getting abused. How do you react to that?
You rise above it. You're in the public eye. Leave it.

And out of interest, wtf has he been able to hear that he's launched himself up 14 rows? He's a professional footballer and it comes with the game.

I imagine at that point, as he’s going towards the stand where his brother is, he sees the confrontation and reacts.

Oh I'm not defending him, I just have a soft spot for him from the Chelsea game where he quietly went about walloping people!

the FA/Premier League will want to make an example of this and so it'll be a hefty fine and ban imo. T

Such a fucking snowflake he chased the guy abusing him out of the stand. Fucking snowflake eh.
And you know this. Do you think as a professional footballer that's acceptable?

Point out to stewards if someone is being over abusive. Don't take it into your own hands. You're asking for trouble.

You won't hear shit from up there, he obviously SAW some shit going down with fans and his brother and he went to protect his family, the hell is wrong with that?

Ok, if he SAW someone pushing his brother round that's his ONLY get out. Other than that, nothing stops the ban that's coming to him.

In short, yes for me it was acceptable, he was looking out for his family. Good on him. Some things are more important. Nice to see a fat mouth gobshite running away like the little cowards they are.

As a professional high profile footballer it will necessarily result in sanction. So be it.

Fuck off with this absolute nonsense, he was one of our better players, if not our man of the match.

I swear some people dont watch any games they just cut and paste generic stuff theyve heard other people say at some point in the past.

As much as it may be justified he’s got to get a ban. The authorities can’t have players jumping up into the stands. Let’s face it insults happen all the time.

I rate him for doing it though. He’s one of the few players in the team with some fire in him.

How many games did Cantona get banned for his Kung Fu attack on a fan?

If he gets a ban he gets a ban. It might not help us out in terms of picking a side for a few games but the guy jumped in to protect his family. You have to respect that. And I wont hold anything against him for doing it.

This all day long

Professional player or not, Dier did what any decent person would do if they saw a family member getting agro.
