I would love it to happen, but in the scenario I paint above, he's not gonna join us, because he doesn't want to spend his early 20s sitting on a bench looking at Kane.

That’s a different argument to be fair. He would absolutely work with Kane imo.

Anyway, it’s sailed. As did every other striker we were actually allegedly looking at. Can’t wait for Wolves and watching Lucas compete for the 60 yard up and under against Boly

This is now looking to me like typical mourinho stuff. Highly negative football. Some say we don't have the players but we do and you can also play more positive formations which we are not now. I wanted to give mourinho a chance but it's only taken a few months and he is now already getting the team setup to play some truly negative crap.

We have. Six of them! How many do you want in a single season? Because I'd wager that much more than that is a bad idea and indeed we've struggled to integrate all of those we have bought at the same time. We couldn't spend while the stadium was ongoing and uncertain, and now it's going to take more than two windows to fix all of our issues. Personally I think one more summer could make a big difference - a ST, a DM and two FBs would be on my list.
Shame about missing out on the three or four defenders we needed, the striker, the two midfielders that if we'd had anything resembling a plan for the squad, we could have brought in during the tumbleweed transfer windows. Poor excuses, this squad has been allowed to rot.

I should have worded my post slightly differently with regard signings I didn't mean we should have signed them all this year. But yeah, the positions you list are about right for me too.

We've endured it since the start of 2019 so everyone should be used to it by now.

This is true. It’s always more noticeable though when it means we roll over limply in our second biggest fixture of the season...again. I’ll be very, very fucking unhappy if we lose to West Ham and Arsenal over the next few weeks

Well, once again, with the players, squad and injuries we have, this isn't surprising and it's about what we should expect for the rest of the season. I don't know how people still get so angry at what's been blatantly obvious since before Pochettino was sacked.

For very VERY many reasons, the squad is fucked, all these magical solutions people offer up are just that, fanciful thinking at best. We need new players. Why haven't we signed new players? Why has the squad been allowed to stagnate to this awful degree? Just how ambitious are we to succeed on the pitch.

Look baldwards and ask these questions.

I agree with the point on squad quality. But I do think that we can’t be too harsh on Dan Levy. He has built the best stadium in the world. That will hold us in good stead for many years to come. He has hired Jose and is going to be financing player purchase and has done so - NDombole, Lo Celso, Sessengnon, Fernandes, Bergwyn. These are decent signings - but they need time to settle. I see a few more players coming over in the summer. Some players need to be replaced and he is trusting Jose with that - a proven winner. He was loyal to Poch but I don’t think anyone will disagree that Poch had not much more to offer. Under Jose we have won away from home and had the third best results in the league. I think the future is bright and Jose is what we need to take us to the next level.

not as bad as some making out. its the defending that is killing us. thought we gave away both too easily, especially the first.

Post match BT are ripping us apart.
The TV channel was changed on the final whistle - the game is history; no point torturing yourself listening to other tell us what we all could see for ourselves. I'm too old to ruin the rest of my weekend because of a lousy Spurs performance!

2 down with 20 mins to go why not? Start him against a side lower down the table.

Well I would rather Dele Ali come on. But that’s the point I’m making. This is a matter of opinion. I would trust Jose - the winner of league titles and the champions league to make those decisions. He has done well so far for us with a lot of squad challenges
