Have any of the ITK who said Bale discussions were on today said they’re over? Not saying I have much hope at all but makes sense they’d say if the door had been shut.

I really don't feel disappointed about not singing a really shitty striker. We literally cannot buy strikers for love nor money the only one we have ever signed in all the years I been watching Spurs was Berba and we literally lucked right out in Kane coming through the academy
I agree but I'd also add Keane, Defoe and Crouchy.

I guess the only hope is that Real change their mind regarding his salary and they suddenly are willing to subsidize it..

I really hope the SC tie Hercs down to a long term contract...........best signing on SC since I've been here!!

With regards to our transfer business, I said I'd reserve my right to lose my shit at the end of the window, well now I'm exercising my rights to extend losing my shit to the end of the season :cautious:

All this balancing of books, not being able to pay for players, refusing obligations and we had the nerve to contact Bale.

Don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for the summer now; everything will be different this time!

How long until we get a Summer Transfer Wishlist thread started?!

LISTEN OUT PLEASE!

we are heavily governed by our banks, and the credit we already drawn down, and have with them. Reality is; we will spend sensibly. We have auditors etc, under agreement watching how we spend every penny. The bank want to protect their asset, which is the stadium. Unless we have an investor to come in, pay off everything, we have to be creative and frugal. I rather that than false hopes. So don’t expect summer to see us rack up 150m in purchases Net spend. We thought we would of had more sponsors:naming rights etc.

I don’t like it, but that is how it is.

EDITED: Nett spend of 150m. Should say can’t see us spending 150m, unless there is couple sails, new investment etc. Opinion
This is really pity. Even our London's rivals have better sponsor deals. I think people do not understand that being the most profitable club might be merely an overnight success and it is due to our wage structure. As a brand we are still behind many clubs, unfortunately

Levy failing to fill holes in the squad and leaving it until a summer splurge that never comes is a narrative we've seen so many times even Marvel Studios would find it a bit tired.

Football at Tottenham is far more sophisticated than training, tactics, philosophy, pressing, attack, defense, goals, set pieces, skills, etc.
Here we talk balance sheets, financial covenants, debt service coverage ratios, debt to equity ratios, liquidity ratios., etc.
The fans are holding the club back. We need to get to the stage where match day programs are replaced with calculators, the big screens show financial market indicators, stewards are replaced by brokers, etc.

Sorry if I've ruined your day, just thought some people might like a little insight as to why we might not be able to do a deal financially, even though we have had a massive increase in revenue.

Like all of us I wanted to see us bring in a striker, however I can understand why we might be a little hamstrung in the early stages post stadium (see Herc's comments on 'creative accounting'). £50 million project finance deals can have an extremely complex structure, let alone one on the scale of our stadium...
