Anyone thinks he should have come on when we went down to ten? Would have been perfect to have kept that ball moving.
I think we're in a place at the moment that whoever isn't currently playing looks a better option than what we have at any given time!

On a more serious note I think in theory yes but he still needs someone to pass the ball to and by that stage the best we could do was hoof it away, so I don't think it would really have made much difference.

Any decision Poch makes will be analysed and picked apart. The players have to man up

should of been on at HT for eriksen. Anyone with eyes could see n’dombele was trying good things but was struggling to get a grip of the midfield battle , throwing winks in there would of allowed him to play with less constraints and probably shut down any progression from everton

Sticking my head on the block, but I still think there’s potentially a really good player there.

And that with some actual proper tactics and a game plan he’d be an asset.

Come at me bitches lol.

At least he dropped deep to give our defence an outlet. No idea why Ndombele didnt really do that in the first half. Best of a really bad bunch

Meh...passing looks nice and tidy but nothing incisive with the occasional long range hollywood pass when he has time and space. No real strength to get away from the opposition or dictate things in midfield. Will be 24 in Feb so not exactly that young anymore.

With Winks, what Guardiola said while at Barca about Wilshere comes to mind...."but we have many types of player like him in the second team."

Watching England tonight it finally clicked.

Passing it sideways, sideways and sideways again.

One and a half testicles to whoever names the former Spurs player with that nickname.................

In my view change of coach will benefit Winks more than any1. Water carrier / holding mf is a position never totally loved by fans.

Good player. Showed it again last night and actually played forward passes, something seemingly banned at Spurs.

There were players finding spaces where he could pass to them. Our movement up front at the moment is non existent. Ndombele occasionally finds a fantastic pass, but that's just it - it has to be a fantastic pass to connect with our front line.

I like what Guillem Balague said back in 2017 when asked:
"What Premier League player would you like to see to move to La Liga in the transfer window. #AskGuillem"

“If this is a question of preference rather than likelihood then I would like to see a player like Harry Winks in La Liga, where he would be challenged in a different ways," said Balague, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"He has the makings of a top midfielder. I know he will play a lot at Spurs and won’t go but I would love to see him at Barcelona or Real Madrid, even though he will be a key feature at Spurs for years to come.”

Winks is (or is being asked to be) a defence-minded link man - he therefore does not offer enough going forward. If you play him with Sissoko you have two midfielders who are rarely going to score goals or provide assists. FTR my view on Winks is neutral and at least he looks like he's trying, unlike some others, he's not a player I 'have it in for', but Roy Keane is right when he says Winks needs to add a little more to his game.

Winks played well last night, but was being asked to do a limited job of recycling the ball. I also noticed that he pushed up and sat on the midfield so that the defence could step out with the ball and bypass him to the wings. Not a lot was going through Winks and was definitely tactical.

What a quote. Back handed compliment at best ?

He was playing against a team who would struggle against Barnet.. He's woeful against the bigger teams like Bayern, Liverpool and City

Funny that because he always used to tend to stand out in the bigger matches, Barcelona, Real Madrid, City in the CL for example. I'm not taking our players displays on this seasons basis because its clear they are playing below their ability levels.

Not sure why Winks gets so much grief. We have a front line that no longer moves, lacklustre full backs and a defence that has half give up. Yet he is expected to provide killer forward passes and tackle like Sandro .

Winks is a mobile possession recycler similar to Carrick, play him in a mobile balanced team and he will play well, like he did last season and like he is doing for England. The team ain’t functioning right now and that’s the issue. It’s why Kane and Winks are struggling at Spurs but not England.
