Sissoko Sanchez Tananga Davies
Dier Ndombele
Moura Lamela Son

I'm not even kidding. Sissoko is better than Aurier and KWP. Tananga deserves a chance. Dier starts because we need someone with balls in there.

Lloris

Sissoko Toby Sanchez Davies

Dier Ndombele

Lamela Dele Son

Kane

Subs : Gazza, KWP, Foyth, Skipp, Winks, Lucas, Parrott

If we play Davies (and I really don’t want to) we need Sanchez in there for some recovery pace. Poch needs to get tough, drop some
of the toasters and go back to a system that a) works, b) the players know and c) gets the best out of Kane

The last thing I’d be doing is playing Ndombele in a 2.

Lloris
Foyth Toby Verts Davies
Dier Winks
Lucas Ndombele Son
Kane

Dier and Ndombele. We need someone who will protect our back 4. I think their skill sets would compliment each other well. The issue is that it's not a change in personnel that's the problem, it's the mentality, the philosophy and the style.

Pep and Klopp are currently the 2 best in the league and their teams back that up. Because they play in their style and won't shift from that. Poch has gone from the pressing etc in a 343 and 4231 to this weird diamond with inferior full backs.

I almost think it needs a Mike Bassettesque show of defiance that 'this is my way, we're doing it like this' aka "four, four fucking two"

Pep and Klopp play in the same way every week. Poch switches constantly and is getting found out. He's confused himself.

I remember so well him being criticised for no plan B all the time on SC. how times change

3-4-3:

———————— Lloris
———— Dier —— Toby —— Jan
KWP — Ndombele — Sissoko — Davies
——— Son ——— Kane ——— Lamela

Highly optimistic but I want us to go back to a system in which we played our best football. 3-4-3, especially with a utility player like Dier, allows us to easily transition between formations. If we’re struggling to break down Brighton, Dier can move into midfield and push one of Sissoko/Ndombele forward. Having three CBs would allow our full backs to push up down the wings and stretch their defence, giving more space for the likes of Son, Kane and Lamela to operate in.

It worked to spectacular effect a few seasons ago. Bring it back.

I was, and am, an advocate of 3 at the back unfortunately we have wing backs who do not provide the required quality going forward (Aurier and 2019 Danny Rose) or the athleticism (KWP and Davies) to make the system really work. Once sessengnon is fit and assimilated I’m all for it’s as at least we’d have one side with an attacking threat and the left forward could tuck in a bit

Until then I don’t see how we have the personnel to make it effective, which is a shame because I think it’s an effective system. I’d also love to know when Sessengnon will be available
