    Financial Results 2019

Revenue up 80m (CL revenue alone up 40M), profit down 45m, and that’s in a year with no player acquisition. That’s promising.

You can help out and drop off things but all at a healthy distance. So for instance, I dropped of stuff at my neighbour's this morning. I put the stuff on her doorstep, knocked, stepped away, and the we had a little chat at a safe distance. It's not like the virus just floats in the air at all...

Premier League officially postponed until April 30th

You are largely correct but some unknowns. Firstly, first case in UK was early February (10th or 12th or something). Secondly, China used force to control chain of transmission, UK uses kind encouragement but not rules and regulations. Thirdly, China is starting to get back to real life but they...

Hah, well I don't know if I belong to "you people" in your reference but yes. There was a half marathon today in Bath. The entire town centre was dead, apart from the race course. It's mental. They claimed "too late to cancel". Have no idea if that's true. But the main problem is not those...

I've lost all interest in Liverpool and whether or not they get an award for doing well during 3/4 of a full season. I look around me and I realise I know many individuals who are directly affected. People who have lost loved ones, people who are shut off from reaching their close family, be it...

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

You are not necessarily all wrong but this isn't really the "Pochettino was fantastic" thread. It's also not the "Pochettino should have been given more time" thread.

The latest accounts are staring to get old, I know, so some caveat about that, but in them they had 100 million in cash (this number fluctuates a lot so who knows what it is in 2020), and they had a profit of 100+ millions. Tottenham is a well run club financially, and they will survive one...

Featured Which is fairer? Coronavirus implications

We'd be OK through one short term crisis. In our accounts, the market value of the playing squad is to put it simple almost not shown (I shan't bother to explain why in this thread). But Tottenham's worst bad case scenario is selling Harry Kane, and all liabilities would be taken care of for 1-2...

    Manager watch: Jose Mourinho

I feel that Berwijn was a textbook case of signings I like. And I don’t know who’s idea that was or why it happened, but at least I’d like to see one transfer window under Mourinho at Spurs. I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

Premier League officially postponed until April 30th

I agree with you in principal. I'm not downplaying the situation really, I'm arguing for the opposite. That the situation in the UK is already in real terms, at the point you are suggesting will become the future. But the the official figures only show a fraction of the reality that's already there.

I'm not saying you are wrong, who knows, but what is the exact rationale for just handing Spurs a CL spot in this scenario?

Premier League officially postponed until April 30th

I agree. Start-stop-start-stop is not going to happen. Postponing footie until April is not a final decision, it's a space to reach decisions and to ensure the situation is not out of hand before they can decide. No reason now for us to come up with bombastic conclusions on what will become the...

Featured Which is fairer? Coronavirus implications

I think all this talk of possible legal action this and that way is probably overly hyped. There are most likely more than enough contractual clauses to account for major, unforeseen, devastating events, and as long as the governing bodies don't reach extremely stupid conclusions, they probably...

Premier League officially postponed until April 30th

If the money is too important, why would they show footie for free? Nah, first thing that has to happen, the UEFA must reach their decision on a uniform approach. When we know what that means for PL, we'll know more about possible solutions.
