    The Summer 2024 scouting thread

I believe he'll have 2 years left on his contract by this summer. Guessing whether they get promotion or not will determine his availability.

Player Watch Player Watch: Timo Werner

For me a 1 year season would be the best option if his club would happily take his salary off their books but can't find a suitable buyer. I know it's not great but a 2 year contract might be a good option for us. We'll lose the £15m but wouldn't be a huge loss.

    Pedro Neto

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-neto/verletzungen/spieler/487465 No idea on the accuracy but suggestions of being out until late May. If that's enough time to get him back to match fitness for the Euros is anyone's guess. I don't think teams will be breaking the bank for him. Given his...

There was a stat earlier in the season the amount of goals Richarlison scores with 1-2 touches. I wonder if Richarlison will thrive playing alongside Werner.

Werner has 2 goals, 3 assists plus the 2 own goal assists in 12 league games for us. 3 games was him coming on as a sub. That's a pretty decent return.

I like Davies and think he's played well at the same time as being an excellent professional. But he doesn't have the skilset for the Udogie role. I'd keep Davies as the 4th choice centre back.

Not so sure about that. HIs stats show that he is creating chances and being a constant danger. The problem with the "eye test" is we remember big moments rather than overall play. We all remember his miss from 2 yards out and that sticks in our mind and we forget a lot of the simple play...

    Player Watch - Japhet Tanganga

Agree. Trying to get players from the academy straight into the first team squad is a big challenge for every team. Would be great if more made it but realistically getting many of our best youth players up to a level where they can make a career around Championship level is a good way forward...

    Dominic Solanke (!?)

He’s a good player but not convinced he’s the right player to lead the line for us.

    Financial Fair Play (general thread)

I've really not kept up with the rules of FFP but feel I should try to get my head round it more. One thing that keeps getting mentioned is how selling youth products is best as it is pure profit. This seems like a crazy way to run the system as if anything you'd think FFP should be promoting...

    Dele Alli at Everton

As much as I hope he turns his career and life around I think he needs to show he can perform first.

If a loan was available I think that’d be the best option. He seems like a good professional who wants to play.

I think that’s quite a poor take. The underperforming players do the same whether Werner is playing or not.

Can we take a moment to laugh heartily at Everton?

Some of the posts in here about their ambition and guaranteed top four challenges will be funny to read now.
