If we keep moving forward the way we are he can stay for as long as he likes as far as i'm concerned. For me it isn't a win something this season or fuckoff thing. Obviously it needs to gel a bit better on the pitch but that'll come and i'm not entirely sure it's the work of a season and a half to change the mentality of the all of the players and the club. But so far, it really does look as though we're finally addressing the things that have needed attention, due in part I suspect to this Birch chap.

We went from a massive high to a pretty depressing low and a period where the hope and excitement were eventually drained out of the fans and I suspect, in a variety of ways, the whole club. Suddenly there's hope, excitement and expectation again and right now, from where we very very recently were, for me, that'll do for now and it'll be interesting to see how it all develops and double interesting to see if Mourinho can instill a winning mentality into not only the team but into the attitudes of the decision makers at the club.

Me neither but you wait, there will be such glee from a lot of people all over the country, a section of our fan base included. I’d say the chances of us winning something is quite slim but hopefully nonetheless.

Fergie threw a boot at Beckham's head.

Pep would barely speak to players if they were out of favour.

Clough would give his underperforming players a slap if they walked on to his pitch without giving 100%

Even our own Pochettino was ruthless in his first 18 months. I recall Brad Freidel giving an interview saying if you didn't do what Poch asked you'd very quickly become a pariah and would be moved out of the club faster than you could imagine. We saw quite a few players get that treatment.

All managers have that streak about them. Mourinho list his rag at a physio that ran on to the pitch when he told her not to. I'm probably going to get neg reps for this opinion but I personally think her legal team made the most of her being a woman (attractive one at that) with the sex discrimination claim. Had Geoff Scott been called a son of a bitch by Donna Cullen I doubt he'd have the same merit to his claim.
And as someone who coaches in Portugal one of the most common phrases is "filha da puta" - "son of a bitch".

Not defending it cause I generally don't like it but someone as intense as Jose isn't gunna be able to hold back on the expletives.

I hated the eye gouge though, really didn't like that.

Hazard in particular said at the time how he owed his career to her help in his recuperation, and it was notable how he stopped performing after she left... Hazard and Fabregas poor relationship with Jose was well documented. Hazard admitted to cheating the Chelsea fans during the following season... Notable how the same squad then won the PL.

Fearn was back on the bench within a few months.
Fabregas had a great relationship with Jose

How depressingly predictable.

Oh sorry, I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to share my opinion on the subject because Gassins finest would find it depressingly predictable.

Maybe some Prozac would cheer you up

Surely would be better to make a constructive comment rather than a wanky sarcastic comment (y)

That is part of my point.

I don't see how sex discrimination comes into the issue whatsoever. Unfortunately, I followed the claim quite closely and it was clear that her legal team were leaning on this quite heavily which is a shame as I would have liked to see more arguments for her medical expertise giving her a duty of care to act over and above the direction of the manager

No one said you couldn't.

I wasn't being sarcastic. No need to be an arse.

Filha is denigrating a woman according to the articles. Filho is the male equivalent.

Anyway, whatever... I'm done with the thread derailing.

Well, time will tell whether he can convert it into consistent performances on the pitch, bit you would have to say he seems to have Levy in the palm of his hand so far when it comes to transfers. We’ve never before had a manager with either the pulling power or more importantly the contacts that this guy has. Not a coincidence in my opinion that Real have suddenly decided to give us a fairly reasonable deal on two good players when we’ve got absolutely zilch from our “special relationship“ before, and we now look to be doing a deal with another of his former clubs for Skriniar. Obviously there are Mendes clients we’re looking closely at as well. I think he’s playing it smart in terms of being pragmatic and flexible in terms of his list, but he also has Levy by the bollocks in a lot of these deals since he has close ties to all parties. If there’s a deal to be done then Jose will know exactly what the terms are, he isn’t gonna settle for “sorry the deal was getting too expensive” if he knows for a fact it isn’t... and/or there is a player he would happily let go to balance the books. Interesting to watch.

The positives you point to are not directly attributable to Mourinho. Or at least Mourinho has played a minor role. And yet you use that to say you don’t care if he stays, regardless of whether he wins anything this year (when being a winner was the number one reason people wanted him in). It’s all very confused even if you make some good points about the club.

And those excusing Mourinho after the Carneiro scandal are reprehensible. He behaved very poorly and showed no concern for the welfare of his player or the professional DUTIES of his doc. Nothing good came of this for Mourinho, the club or Carneiro. So those focusing on a single-minded pursuit of winning must also admit that this focus can lead to errors of judgement. I’m sure Mourinho would have the grace to admit that in private. Hes many things but he’s not a monster.

Jose Mourinho successfully complained to Uefa about the size of the goalposts before Tottenham's Europa League play-off victory against Shkendija in North Macedonia :D

You'd think it would be standard procedure for the officials to check things such as the size of the goal before a match to ensure everything is above board. Shouldn't take the goalkeepers to notice it, especially in a European competition.
