Surprised this hasn't been shared:

The club put up a video of every one of his PL goals for the club (so far).

That second goal v Norwich when Modric feeds him at the half way line. The dink. One of my favourites.

Also Ray Wilkins was an underrated commentator.

He is completely correct though (the HITC guy). History will be kinder to Bale than it seems at the moment but the fans will never be turned- they still adore Steve McMannaman even though he wasn't all that but he tried.

That club will always disgust me, the entitlement..

I can't wait to see some training videos! Watching him integrate with the players and launching some 30 yarders will be great!

Have RM agreed to pay 60% of his wages for the entire rolling one year contract? That’s the key question - having a one year extension option at a total cost of £600k per week to us isn’t that helpful, having an extension option at £220-260k per week to us (seemingly what we are paying this season) certainly is...

No one knows, but I assume Bale’s agent wouldn’t have said another year will be relatively simple to do if that wasn’t the case. He’ll know we can’t pay silly wages.

if we had all the best players from the 3 main years Of bale at there peak
vdv
bale
woodgate
Parker
lennon
modric
sandro
king
Walker
dembele
we would have had such a team
Notice the complete absence of strikers / centre forwards in your list - our area of weakness for circa 5 years, between Berbatov leaving and Kane coming onto the scene. Imagine if we'd had a peak Berbatov and Kane, instead of Crouch and Pavlyuchenko, during Harry's era - would have at least come within touching distance of the PL trophy.

I'd add Lloris, Keane, Vertonghen, Gallas and Rose to that list. You could make a case for Defoe, Adebayour and Crouch at their absolute peaks - not world class, but would provide adequate cover for Kane, in a 2010-20 dream team.

I imagine Bale would love to do two years with us, then retire before he slows down after hopefully playing in the Qatar World Cup (though because of its timing he may well want to try to hack one more season).

Yes, the HITC video is really good. I even don't know about the kicking cars event. What a shame. Imagine how he felt when he was welcome by our fans at the front door of the training ground few days ago.
