Competitions:

U18 Premier League
U18 FA Youth Cup
U18 Premier League Cup
U23 Premier League (PL2)

First thing to notice, is that the new intake is very small, and very short in defence, which makes the release of Watt and Hudson so surprising so I imagine it will be utility players like Cassanova, Davies and Turner plug the gaps. Even the 2nd years only have 2 good good actual defenders in Muir and Lusala. So I hope that we use quite a few of our talented age group below, I can think of possibly 3 players that could realistically come up and play in defence if needs be.

This new intake combined with the next year under 16s, reminds me of a reverse 99/00 age group. Where the 99s had loads of top quality players, but the 00s had less but arguably better players that made them a strong group. These 04s have a small group but 3 or 4 proper talents, that I have first team hopes for but the next year group has around 10 really good players that will come up and support.

With the u23s, I didn't realise how many talented players have left us compared to the ones that are still here, but then again I guess that's the point that people will be going after the ones they really rate. I don't remember if it was discussed but one I noticed was Rayan Clarke, hopefully he is able to find a new club and really kick on with his development.

With a new manager starting this season, I wonder what the new boys will be thinking. Mourinho has already introduced Tanganga, and compared to the previous regime boys are already getting out on what appear to be good loans, however Mourinho's reputation rightly or wrongly precedes him. It already looks more promising but whether the youngsters think that we won't know, but the potential to work under Mourinho should motivate these kids and hopefully encourage them to stay.

With the new structure hopefully the link between the first team and development group as well as the general development post 18 starts o greatly improve, and we start seeing potential talent once again turn into actual talent, and if we don't use them actually start making money from sales.

If any sharp eyes notice mistakes please let me know, and I will edit if I can be arsed.

Feel free to repost any conversations from old thread in here

"Burnett’s side could be a fairly experienced for this game, with Jack Roles, Anthony Georgiou, Shilow Tracey, George Marsh and Kazaiah Sterling all pictured training with the development side last week after being out on loan last season."

Read that we’re trialling ex-Man Utd youngster Dion McGhee and also keen to sign Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster

O ye I keep reading he's on loan and forgot it's from Tenerife and not us.

I'll edit

Weird one on McGhee - he’s been linked with a host of clubs in Europe and seems to be a nice prospect. Not sure why United have cut him loose. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...er-United-starlet-Dion-McGhees-signature.html

Don't much about him myself. Probably a similar situation to Dinzeyi if I'm honest

There is live streaming for tonight game

Awesome.

Will try and stream this alongside the Toronto Raptors’ playoff game.

Both of which will likely end up looking more like pre-season exhibition games.

Hoping to see some of Roles, White, Cirkin, Etete, and/or Markanday out there.

Also will be interesting to see which keepers get a run out. Perhaps Whiteman and Austin on a bit of a showing with a view to a loan?
