I do wonder what our position in the league will be, come January.

it won’t be fun if we’re mid table, that’s for sure.

I’m sure the club has the intention to sort a lot out in January but I’m sceptical the reality will match it

As other pointed out, every other January transfer it's been "Players are too expensive and the deals are too difficult". Why would we suddenly be able to do business that we are content with?

Levy never liked January transfer window much, it was something used for bargains deals (Alli,Hotlby, Moura) or nothing. Maybe with half the squad being unsettled and Pochettino crisis things finally change. Getting Dani Olmo for 30m or so and a RB would be a decent start.

Also, if we're languishing in midtable in January, who's to say we'll be able to persuade players to change club mid-season? It's not like we're an image of stability atm.

Very important that we still are fighting for top 4 when january comes in that case. Must be harder to have fun if we are ninth in the league, surely?

The only time he did go for it was under Redknapp when we were in the shit (Defoe, Palacios, Cudicini, Chimbonda, Keane) so it will have to be a similar scenario for it to happen again I suspect.....but that was under a new manager

Bruno Fernandes here we come! (Saying that with sarcasm as I'm not sure he cures what ails us currently)

See this on another forum

Contracts expiring 2020:

GK - Alexander Nubel
RB - Thomas Meunier
CB - Timothy Fosu-Mensah
CB - Eric Bailly
LB -Layvin Kurzawa
DM - Boubakary Soumare
DM - Nemanja Matic
CM - Ever Banega
AM - Mario Gotze
AM - Ryan Fraser
FWD - Edinson Cavani/ Dries Mertens

Contracts expiring 2021, knockdown fee time next summer:

GK - Gianluigi Donnarumma/ Jack Butland
RB - Lukas Klostermann/ Elseid Hysej
CB - Dayot Upamecano/ Malang Sarr
CB - Mathias Ginter / Benoit Badiashile
LB - Alex Telles/ Juan Bernat/ Alejandro Grimaldo
DM - Sander Berge / Sandro Tonali/ Julian Weigl/ Ibrahim Sangare
CM - Piotr Zielinski
CM - Julian Draxler
AM - Dani Olmo
AM - Carlos Soler/ Ferran Torres/ Florian Thauvin/ Memphis Depay
FWD - Arkadiuz Milik/ Kevin Volland/ Chris Wood/ Moussa Marega

Here’s the team I made out for it

Donnarumma
Meunier Ginter Upamecano Telles
Berge Weigl
Draxler Thauvin Olmo
Depay

I'm all over that 2021 list. Dang!

Of the 2020 list I'd be interested in Meunier and Kurzawa from PSG although the former isn't far off being 30 and the latter would likely end up being another Aurier type of signing. Beyond that I'd be happy with Fraser or Mertens.

From the 2021 list I'd like us to be all over the following:

GK: Donnarumma
CB: Dayot Upamecano/ Malang Sarr
CB: Mathias Ginter / Benoit Badiashile
LB: Telles or Grimaldo
DM: Berge or Weigl
CM: Zielinski, Draxler
CF: Volland, Milik

Those CB options are brilliant. We've been linked with Ginter before and Sarr is very highly rated for a player so young.

A right back that I'd personally like us to go after is Denzel Dumfries at PSV. He stood out to me when we played PSV last season. Big, strong, athletic. 23 yrs old. He'd be a great option IMO and would be very gettable.

can anyone remember how the Europa music goes?

The only place in London in 20/21 to watch...

or that might be West Ham

or Palace

No way Levy gets fees for Eriksen or Toby in Jan, or Jan,
maybe Wanyama, Dier, Aurier and Rose if he doesn't overprice the fkers
