I was just asking because supposedly one of the problems in first few games was not playing Jan and you were not in good mood. And he did nothing so far worthy of keeping his position, I was just asking your stance on it.:)

With Jan current situation - I have no clue why he was dropped early in season. May be Poch was right in dropping him. Its hard to say because currently everyone is playing terribly.

Whoever is the manager or player, I dont usually criticise them straight away - everyone should get their fair share of chances and should have the freedom to implement their ways.

With Poch - I have loved him & backed him for 6 years. But doesn't mean, he can't be criticised. Current situation - not all his own making , but he does share the responsibility of our league form since Feb. I don't see the redemption this season for Poch here on in. He is talking about rectifying the squad in January. Winter window is still 17 games away and we are conceding 2 a game. I only see a sad ending to this. Club wont sack the players, so manager will get the sack if things dont improve. I am pragmatic, so, I have no shame in us, letting him go and look at things freshly under a new manager. Whoever that is, gets my backing and support for the things they want to implement.

Image result for fat guy on sofa criticizing women

You leave her alone. There's nothing wrong with her perfect knees.

It sounds good for this season but what happens when it all comes crumbling down? We’d be in a very similar position to where we are now, with a squad of old and unsettled players requiring a total rebuild. We don’t have Chelsea or United’s resources to undertake that sort of thing with successive managers.

We need a manager who will build for the long term, not just one who will get us over the line for this season but eventually leave us right back where he started.

But we’ll probably have won stuff, which is like, the whole point.

We have the right manager, but our whole transfer structure and hierarchy above him needs to change.

dont know why people want mourinho hes a managerial dinosaur and look at the state he left manure in

He left them having won two trophies and finished 2nd in the league in his first two seasons.

I’d have that for a couple of years and then fuck him off, happily.

Don't be daft.
This is a fan forum, for people to discuss the club they love.
Just because fans are showing concern over the current situation at the club, doesn't make this place toxic.
I've not noticed any vitriolic craziness, just people sharing opinions and discussing possible options or solutions.

I agree. Opinions differ, but I think the tone has been quite good. Compared to certain days in the match thread, the early days of the Lamela thread, late days of the Eriksen thread this is all very civil. Also I think we are all disappointed/disillusioned and grasping for solutions however radical they may seem to some....

We can all thank the OP for his diplomatic, lighthearted approach to starting the thread.

Also, the poll closes on Oct 12th, and whoever is in the lead will be the next Spurs manager, even if it's WalkerboyUK's lad's u14 coach.

Yes, well played to the OP for getting it right for once.... ?

Yep after this:

Players with Transfer fee: 10
Transfer expenditures : 466.100.000 € Transfer
fee per player: 46.610.000 €
Period selected: 01.07.2016 - 18.12.2018

Can he do this too at spurs?

Surely it’s better to look at his time at Inter and what he spent there?

Football managers will always want more players. At Man Utd he had loads of cash to spend. Do you not think he’d realise he wouldn’t have that at spurs?

Football isn’t a closed shop. He’d know what levy is like. He’s tried to get him as our manager twice before after all.

As far as I know, Mourinho has a history of joining clubs that are used to winning stuff regularly and then wins more stuff with them. Has he ever turned a club into winners from a position like ours, and if he hasn't, what makes people so certain that he will? People go on as if it's guaranteed we'll be lifting silverware but I can see him copping a strop pretty quickly and flouncing off like he usually does.

Pochettino has taken us from top 4 challengers to a top European Club in terms of squad and infrastructure to match.

Mourinho would then make us a Top European club with trophies to back that up and, at the very least, a culture of winning which we haven't had in years.

Even if Jose only lasts 2 years, if he changes the mentality of the club from being the "nearly men" to winners (even if it's just a couple of domestic trophies) we'll be set for some real success. At that point, we can appoint another young talented manager to build a project based on winning trophies rather than just getting top 4.

Personally think a combination of Pochettino and Mourinho would transform the club even if it all eventually goes tits up with Jose.
The players really loved playing for him at Utd didn't they, so much so they got him fired. I don't want to see him at Spurs. Why is it everybody thinks if there foreign they must be good. Personally if Poch goes I would be quite happy to see Eddie Howe or even Dyche given a chance. Nobody knows how good they could be as they have always been with smaller clubs with no real budget but have always managed to keep them in the PL. Mourinho always blames everybody but himself when the going gets tough it wouldn't take long to have a really disgruntled squad even worse than it is now.

You really want to watch the football that Dyche serves up? At least Howe plays good football, but the issue it having the only remit being staying in the PL is a world away from the expectation of managing a top four team. Particularly one whose main criticism has been failure to win silverware.
