Read what you said again, you said every season we start slow and play catch up, we won our first 3 matches last season.

In what universe is that starting slow? How the hell is winning 9 points out of 9 starting slow? :ROFLMAO: Also we didn't go onto lose our next 3 matches, we won 1 and lost twice so our record was 4-0-2.

You're factually wrong, don't argue back or try and move the goalposts please, take the L and move on.

No, I won’t take the L and move on when you’re talking nonsense. The start of the season is longer than just 3 games. The first 6 games is a better barometer of how you start the season.

In any case, we lost two games (not three) in our first 6. That isn’t a good start if you have ambitions of winning titles. If you think that’s a good start I can’t help you.

Shouldn't underestimate Villa. They are a useful side and we'll have to get control of midfield straight away and get on top of Grealish and McGinn.

So what point are you making then? You're the one that said we need to start well and you're mentioning it in our first match of the new season, so if we lose this one and then win the next 5 is that not starting well? Pointless you bringing that up in here if you mean the first 6 matches, I suspect you didn't mean that though because you're blatantly moving the goalposts of your argument to save face but okay...

Read what I said again, I said our record was 4-0-2 (four-zero-two) last season no that we lost three matches, by the way you do realise that Chelsea had a 3-1-2 record in their first 6 matches in 2016/17 don't you?

The point I’m making is last season we didn’t start well. We lost two out of the first 6, as many in September as City and Liverpool had lost by Xmas I believe.

Not sure what you’re waffling on about in your first paragraph. I merely said we have to start well, that includes the first game of the season but also includes the 5 after that. Winning the first game of the season isn’t what I meant. I was talking about winning the first segment of fixtures which most normal people would realise I am talking about 6 or so games. Just in the same way if someone says we finished the season badly or strongly isn’t just talking about the final game of the season but a run of games ? I’m not moving the goalposts. You just didn’t grasp what I meant.

Its nice to be back. Was banned from the house of lords, had to rely on the house of commons for any tidbits. Thank god for the newspapers!!!!!!!!! Anyway looking forward to a flying start, and the day when all our new lads are able to compete all together. COYS

Weird that nothing was said about Lo Celso. Presumably he won't be involved but strange that nothing was said. Even some bollocks like Lo Celso is continuing fitness work etc

Agree. Loosing 1-2 games before new years is a good start to the season.

Awful start to the season. All raring to go with shiny new stadium and players but with the latest kick-off of the weekend at 2:30am I'll have to record it and watch it tomorrow. Don't tell me what happened.

There was some ITK a while back about us adopting a new style of play. Interested to see if there's anything in that. Hoping for 433 formation but bracing myself for the dreaded diamond.

We don’t really have the players for a real 433. Need at least 3 quick and talented wingers. At the moment we’ve only really got Lucas and Son who could fit that mould. Maybe Sessegnon at a push. Poch has always looked to overload in central areas and use the fullbacks to provide width, so I’d be surprised if he adopted it.

I'd be pretty surprised if we see any setup that we haven't already seen during pre-season.

I have a real inkling that Kane will hit a hat-trick and we'll win 5-0!
