Unless they have release clauses, which kind-of are and they can.

As with toby the release clause expires before our window shuts so we have time to get a replacement. Only a moron would agree to one that didn't and they would deserve to be fucked over.

With Aurier, Wanyama and NoKanDoo also looking surplus to requirements it would be just like Levy to bring in a large wedge of cash on the next two weeks and end up in profit over the summer. Can’t see them offering £60m, but if they do he’s off!

It is up to us if we want to sell or not. Annoying that it might distract players but i'd rather have all our players in before the start of the season.
Ideally the rest of europe follows suit.

That's true, but regardless it's likely to cause unrest in some form or another, and we can't do a thing about that.

If Real bid 60 fair enough he can go with all our blessings. Eriksen what's another challenge and I'd hate to keep a player against his will we need players fully committed. He has been a model professional since we stole him for 11M against Ajax.

The thing about it is that it’s so hush hush that Levy will have no clue until the last minute. He won’t have time to consider his options.

I would imagine that the Neymar transfer may have an impact on this

If he ends up at Madrid, then there's no way Eriksen is going there before next summer

If instead, Neymar ends up at Barca then Madrid might look to bring in our Dane

EDIT And of course there's PSG who will want to spend some of the Neymar money. Depends if Eriksen wants to go there, etc

£60m it is a no-brainer, we would be silly not to take, but do severely increase the risk of missing out on our objectives

I really think a bid in the £35-£40m is what will be forthcoming, and that really then becomes a tricky decision.

£60M won't buy us the 3 points Eriksen has already won for us against Villa! Keep him, he is still the best midfielder we have!

Strange thing about this rumour is 60mil would have gotten him at any point, so not sure why they are "making a last ditch bid" on deadline day

Lol

Trix maybe it's not a bid just a message to Eriksen to hang in

Why not call his agent instead of the sun?

Far more likely it's just bollocks to fill column inches for the sun. Madrid might come in if they fail going for neymar. Even then i'm not sure they will.

Personally, I don't think MR will go after Erickson this summer.
Erickson has said his preferred destination is MR. Even if other clubs were to bid for him, Erickson doesn't seem to be tempted. So why not just wait for 10 months and get him for free. (He can sign a pre-contract in Jan.) I think this is in both Erickson's and RM's line of reasoning. Besides Modric is still doing well at Madrid.
Which is bad for us in financial terms, but the player has a right to choose his destiny, just like the rest of us. He pays a price too, because he could have doubled his wages for over a year now, if he had re-signed for us. But we have to respect his decision to control his life.
