Real Madrid will make a late £60million bid for Christian Eriksen.

But the Spanish giants are waiting until the last minute to pile pressure on Tottenham chief Daniel Levy to accept a ‘take it or leave it’ offer for the Dane.

I'd take 60m in a heartbeat. One way or another, I think he'll go. If he signed a new contract there'd be a release clause and we'd still be living under the shadow of 'what will we do without Eriksen?' I'd be inclined to get on with it now and invest some of the 60m in buying out Dybala's image rights. Onwards and upwards.

If he doesn't want to stay, then let him go for that kind of money.

We've got enough to cover till Xmas and can go back in for Fernandes or Dybala etc.

Better than letting him playing safe or hot/cold trying not to get injured to get his big move next year on a free. Not that I have a problem with a player doing what's in his interest, he has done his time and given good service. But from a club POV, better to get the money in.

If he signs, then great. If he goes next year, fair enough. If we get a big offer in, take it.

In a 4-2-3-1 we have Lamela, Dele and Lo Celso who could all do a job un the no. 10 role if Eriksen goes so I'd be happy to get 60m for him and let him go.

Why would real wait? Just make the offer now, levy will either accept or decline by the end of the window. Levy might want to haggle but madrid just have to say that is their final offer.

It really is a farce that some of the worlds biggest clubs can buy our players and we can't buy anyone as cover. Ridiculous rules. Poch is absolutely right.

I can understand why the window was changed to shut before the season begins, however it needed to be universal with the rest of Europe, as it is, it's left the premier league massively vulnerable.

It is up to us if we want to sell or not. Annoying that it might distract players but i'd rather have all our players in before the start of the season.
Ideally the rest of europe follows suit.

How does it leave the premier league vulnerable?

I think it is in the case of European teams holding PL teams to ransom for players, knowing that they have an advantage, and PL players being able to leave without being able to be replaced.

The club decides if they sell or not. There is no ransom and players aren't allowed to just leave.

The most important factor for me is if the player himself wants to go. If he does, let him. We've got amazing value from him - was it £12m we paid?? - and he's been a model pro in terms of performance and attitude pretty much throughout. It is not unreasonable that he'd want a change after so long here. It's not about him causing trouble or dissing Spurs - he just wants a change after 6 years (which is probably half his elite-level career) and I don't see that as unreasonable. Ajax > Spurs > Real and 100+ caps for Denmark would be a stunning career, and it just seems perfectly set up for that sequence to happen.
