The plain fact is that Fulham were in the same situation we're in with Eriksen. A rapidly devaluing asset who only wants to go to one club. In that situation you don't hold many cards, even less when the player is injured. Fulham shot themselves in the foot by not selling him the previous year and blowing a stack of cash on other terrible signings.

Slightly different with Fulham though, they probably would’ve got at least £15m for sess no matter what

I do hope that @Trix and /or @Hercules are able to give a summary of the market from their viewpoint - believe Hercs did say once all over.

Would be interesting to see how much overlap they had in info and understand why nads were placed on the line. Know medicals booked, Betis changed terms but to go in that hard took some, pardon the phrase 'balls', given that things change all the time.

I have to say I find this a little disappoimting to hear how close we came to not getting this one done( which everyone had been told was pretty much a certainty). To be offering really silly amounts so close to the deadline doesn't seem a clever strategy and didn't work anyway.

How do we know that Khan isn't talking out of his backside though and giving lip service to the Fulham fans? For all we know he buckled and lowered his price from something insane (he had been linked to moves for up to £50m in the past)

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what's been said. We got a top class talent for a great price based on current market values, I honestly couldn't care less about what's being said and by whom. Sessegnon is a Spurs player, that's the only thing that matters at the end of the day.

He's been impressive for Fulham tonight, shame we couldn't nick him as well. I suppose we have the leverage of his brother should we ever come in for him...

I think their owner despises us so I can't see us ever signing Steven from them.
