Back from injury and starts for Sevilla today.

It's so Spursy that he's Probably the most Conte-esqe player we've recently had within our ranks.

I wish I could "Winner" that comment 1,000X. Yeah I know- injuries- I get it- but still: Conte would fucking ADORE the guy. He (the gaffer) got starry-eyed when referencing Joe Rodon's "toughness" regarding his two broken ribs. Conte LOVES warriors. He would think he'd died and gone to heaven w/Lamela, because he's tough as nails, highly football-intelligent and, on his day, filthy. It's insane to think how much Antonio would have loved him. Seriously. The guy was MADE for Antonio Conte in every way save for the fact that yes- admittedly- he gets injured all the time.

It just breaks my heart, imagining Conte watching Lamela sprint onto the pitch in the 89th minute of a game we're winning 3-nil as if we're down, and his entire life depends upon us scoring a goal in the time we have left.

I fucking loved Lamela. I fully understand his detractors- I really do- but for me he did things that advanced us as a club. Against Barcelona in the Champions League- playing what was probably the final great(ish) Barcelona team (they really ought to have won the CL the year we made the final; they basically gave it away to Livershite)- he scored at home and "ABA'd ("Assist Before the Assist"-ed)- at the Camp Nou and in the dying minutes of one of the most vital games in our club's history- a magical no-look pass to Kane who squared it to Lucas who slotted it home in order to barely get us an INCREDIBLE draw, a point which somehow got us second in that straight-up "Group of death." The guy always played well against Shitty, Liverpoo and the scum and REGULARLY shone vs. the best and brightest. The bigger the game, the better he seemed to become.

Plain and simple (as I'm betting you've gleaned by now) I flat-out love the dude, and I truly hope that somehow, someway he returns to us in some capacity- whether that be as a coach, ambassador or whatever. Hell, I'd take him on a free (in a fantasy world), just as a squad player under Conte, where I think he'd thrive.

I just want to see him around, see his face, stare into those big brown eyes, all the while looking so incredibly handso...sorry- lost my train of thought: anyway, what I meant to say was just how professional he would look in a nice, fitted navy-blue Tottenham sportcoat, replete with the golden cockerel pin on the chest (like how Poch used to dress when he wasn't going full tracksuit)...anyway yeah, I just want Lamela back in N17; to my mind, the dude is Spurs.

Oh and btw- no I DO NOT have a man-crush on him, and no I have not been tamping- way deep down inside myself, for years- highly suppressed, slightly homoerotic feelings for the guy. Oh and lastly- seeing as how you brought it up: no I do not feel conflicted about anything to do with him and no I do NOT find him "dreamy." That's ridiculous.

You do. You're the one projecting your inner turmoil onto me. Me- I've done nothing but discuss the merits of a particular soccer player- as I would regarding anyone else. Indeed, you're the one who had to take this conversation to a totally divergent place, bro.

Me, I sleep just fine at night, seeing as I'm not the one with the issues.

YOU ARE.

Lamela gets taken off, and Madrid comes back from 2-1 to win it 3-2 (including a goal from Vinicious taken away by var). I'm sure it was just a coincidence, though.

Never gonna happen, but I'd absolutely love Conte to bring him back. They're just perfect for each other.

I'm unashamedly biased & would much rather turn to him from the bench, than either of Bergwijn or Lucas.

I miss Coco. ?

All nonsense ifs and buts but I would have loved to see Lamela fully fit for a season under Conte (whom I don’t think would have sanctioned his sale had Conte been brought in instead of NES).

He’s a player I won’t ever forget as long as I live; not because he was anywhere near being the best, but his attitude was exemplary - even when his body was failing and dealing with heartbreaking family news.

Amazing the different story a picture tells to the more accurate video of the same moment.

Pic makes Lloris look like he’s holding his head taking in the adorable scene infront of him but the video shows he’s just rubbing his face in a split second.

Reminds me of the famous pic of Maradona taking on the whole Belgium team which is ruined when you see he just received a pass and the Belgians are all defending a free kick
