If Eriksen is sold before this transfer window closes even if its for £50m - would we use that money to replace him with another player in the january transfer window or will that money be used as reimbursement for the players we have already signed this window to make up the net spend?

I think we all accept our interest in Dybala was genuine so I presume it would be reinvested, but probably not in January, I still think if we could get Fernandes for £50M odd it would be a good deal.

If Lo Celso is Eriksen's replacement then I think we have weakened the squad and not strengthened it

It's pure revisionism to suggest we don't need Eriksen but if he is going to go i would rather get a fee for him now than lose him next summer for nothing considering we are already losing Toby on a free next year.

We don't need to replace Eriksen like for like in January (as I don't think we could) but we can use that money to strengthen the team (RB?) to make us better over all.

Lo Celso has barely kicked a ball for us yet and you're willing to make that statement!?

Eriksen is a wonderful player but there are areas in his game that are lacking which I know for a fact Lo Celso has as strengths in his game. GLC is also younger so whilst I understand why you might think we'd be weaker, it's arguably a bit early to say that, isn't it?

Did he actually kick it?

I'm just going by the ITK that if we sold Eriksen we would likely sign two players to replace him as opposed to only straight replacement

If Lo Celso can find his top form early, I think he would be an upgrade of the Eriksen we've seen at least as far back as the second half of last season.

Couldn't agree more. People saying we are weakened based on seeing Lo Celso play for over 15 minutes for us.... He has some real strengths to his play that Eriksen doesn't. I think people will be very surprised.

We're not winning the league this season so we need to prioritise getting a fee for Eriksen and re-investing the money in January/the summer.

Next to Kane he's been our most valuable player for the last few years. But, unlike past departures like Berbs, Bale, and Modric we're in a much stronger position to replace him like for like.

If Real are making a genuine effort to get him then good luck to him as I was hoping their lack of interest would see him sign a new contract.

And whilst losing the previous three meant a drop in performance for a season or two I don't think the drop will be as much with Christian and the re-investment will see a quicker return.

I do like the fact though that even when Levy attempts a negative net spend he fails miserably.

Expecting GLC to match Eriksen's proven Prem contribution and output would be a massive weight of expectation on him in his first season, though.

There are many players that were inspired by great players.
The strongest partnership has been Eriksen assisting Kane but often Kane has done most of the work as little for Kane has been easy.
Who else has he found a great partnership with.
Sons goals have been individualistic efforts for the most part,Mouras yes but those goals seemed a combination of all the players or no one specifically.
Lamela and Dele occasionally too.
Did Llorente get on the end of a lot if Eriksens work?
Most things went through Eriksen so he did get a large amount of assists.
Would like to see a lot more fluidity in future whoever is with us.
Lo Celso seems a fluid player with an eye for a pass...let's see.

Agree partially with this, although I would say that we need the Eriksen from 18 months or so ago, not the Eriksen we've seen on far too many occasions since Christmas.
Hence why it’s probably best we offload now if we can get some value to reinvest in January. If he stays without signing a new contract I don’t think we’ll be seeing the Eriksen of the 17/18 season unfortunately.

Someone must be in Eriksen’s ear about an imminent bid coming soon surely? I swear Madrid are probably whispering sweet nothings in his ear at night and they’ll bid low on the last day of the transfer window.
