'Better league' is a bit of an understatement. Spurs have won more European trophies in our history than the entire French league combined, and the Premier League has had more European finalists in the last three months than the French league has had in the last three decades. France is not a place where top class footballers go if they want to improve their game or enhance their reputation.

Big money and easy trophies are what PSG can offer, and if that's what Dybala really desires after 4 years of hoovering up the domestic honours in Italy, then he should go there. But it will be viewed as nothing less than a big step down from Juve and Serie A in all respects. A move to Spurs would obviously also be considered a step down from a European giant like Juve, but the Premier League would certainly be seen as a step up.

The more I hear about the seemingly never ending saga of Dybala, the more I convince myself his ship has sailed and for one reason or another, we missed the chance of buying a ticket.

But they aren't in the PL, they are a super rich club, in a beautiful city with guaranteed silverware.

If we are going to talk about our history we have to talk about it when it doesn't put us in a good light. If European trophies and history are important to a player, trust me Dybala would chose United over us, even in the last few seasons they have won silverware.

I don't think a club's history (beyond maybe the last 4-5 years) is an important factor for any player. I only mentioned European competition history to illustrate how mediocre the French league is. It seems to get mentioned as one of Europe's 'big 5' leagues a lot these days, when in truth it's closer to the Russian & Portuguese leagues in terms of CL & EL performance than any of the real 'big 4'.

There obviously are some reasons why players might choose to go to PSG, but the apparently common perception that every top player would jump at the opportunity to go there is flawed.

Its clearly not at the level of the PL, Spain, Italy or Germany but I can see why a player would go there, they have arguably the best young player in the world, a young well respected manager, and a good sprinkling of talent throughout their squad. More importantly they have money and as with Dybala especially that's important, why would he leave Juve for anything less than he was already receiving. Dybala is a good player but clearly money is important to him, I certainly wouldn't ridicule Dybala for going there, its his life, his career and his future.

Maybe its my age but I am less and less trusting of players/managers or their motives for moving or what they want from a MOVE. I care about my club, for me players come second.

I have no doubts that there is strong interest on both sides and that if they can get a deal done they will. That said, this has proven a hard deal to get done already. Do you have info that the imaging rights will be settled? If not, they are still at an earlier state than we were when we had agreed to all other terms. A lot can still go wrong.

The image rights are not a problem in most of Europe. It's a PL edict that has screwed us over. Shouldn't be an issue for PSG at all. Sadly.

Image rights are safety net for a player from South America. They sell their image rights early in their career when just starting out as a just in case. A rainy day fund sort of thing.

It's the same reason so many young foreign players choose to go to Chelsea, we all think they are making a mistake as they won't develop with them but if Chelsea pay them 20k pw on a three year deal that's £3m which may not seem like much to a top footballer but to these kids whose families probably have next to nothing that sets them up for life and after that an average career will do fine.

The bastards, and all we get back is something like £200 million every season!
Only kidding Archie' personally I think a good rule would be that image rights can only be held by a third party for the duration of a player's current deal.
