Yup. You’d go there over us at the moment, sadly. Can change quickly but they’re appealing right now
Pretty sure Villa are sailing close to the PSR line and Emery has said they need to sell before they can buy even if they get ECL..
I know the fashion in here is to feel most clubs on an upturn are more attractive than Spurs but we are consistently in and about the top 6 and Villa have had their first few European seasons in a long time.

why?

Did Maddison prefer Newcastle to us?

Yeah I'm not sure about Villa holding so much more appeal. You can factor in a few things such as the city, training ground, stadium etc. Also, without sounding arrogant and I know it's no guarantee for us either, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only time Villa will be in the CL for a fair few years.

I dont think Villa are more appealing that us in anyway shape or form really bar the likely CL spot next year. That's it. That's one season of, i dunno, 5 seasons at a club. We are the most attractive club in the Premier League outside of the obvious 5.

Bergvall rejected Barcelona for us.

Dragusin rejected Bayern for us.

Players aren't going to simply reject us for Villa.

If Emery is better at convinces them then fair enough but if they visit us and Ange, I'm sure Villa will become an afterthought.

We had a lot of momentum then. Things might have altered by the summer - right now we’re a mess on the pitch

You'd hope a player's advisory team would advise against making a career decision based on mid-season form but I'm sure it plays a part. Are we a good move for his career? I'd like to think so, but if his aim is to go Barcelona then you'd think he'd be in no rush to leave his boyhood club if his end goal is on the near horizon.

I seriously doubt he’s leaving bilbao for anything other than one the elite clubs
Exactly this, the way his season is going he will have his choice of clubs plus he is very settled where is and in no rush. I think he will only leave for a team he really wants.

Maybe that ends up being us but I’m personally sceptical. Not that I think he goes to the likes of Villa or Chelsea ether mind.

We need something special in attack that's for sure.

I have to admit that in watching the last few games and our lack of quality in attack really being furthermore highlighted, I'm starting to feel increasingly unsure about signing Werner too. The only attackers we should be bringing in now are ones we really feel could make a substantial difference IMO. We have too many who aren't at the required level as it is.
Spot on mate
