Might have ramifications in our pursuit of G-Lo.

Think Atletico's first choice is Felix, but with Griezmann supposedly off, they're going to have some decent wedge and holes to fill, and they're supposed to hold an interest.

Considering how much they've spent it's mad Rodri is their record buy at £62m

They don’t buy mega stars, they have a philosophy and get players to fit. But their financial muscle allows them to just hoover up the talent they need when they need it. They don’t need to haggle clubs down from their asking price, they don’t need to skimp on wages, or agents fees.

From the BBC sports ticker:

David Silva has been named Manchester City's new captain.

Rather than pick Vincent Kompany's replacement himself, City manager Pep Guardiola waited for all his players to return to training before letting them decide in a private vote.

The outcome was Silva, who will leave the club at the end of the season, getting the captain's armband.

That's actually quite a nice thing to do.

What was the difference between what city have done and what Chelsea did? Genuine question as I haven't read up much on either

£300k?! I'm sure fining them less than De Bruyne's weekly wage will teach 'em.

One day the footballing authorities will realise fining clubs owned by billionaires is pointless.
