Does anybody have any experience of taking a bag into the stadium?

I know the usual process is for it to be a clear bag but I'm heading there straight from work tomorrow so will have my laptop bag on me. I'm sure it'll be fine but I don't want to get turned away at the gate or forced to leave my laptop somewhere.

Bag Policy:

Specifically says laptop bags are not allowed. Laptop sleeves perhaps, depending on the size of the laptop/sleeve.

This is where my confusion came as I've seen quite a few people with handbags or small bags allowed in.

Fortunately they allowed me in perfectly fine with a cursory look inside the bag (where I'd made sure I only had a laptop with nothing else in there)

Handbags and small bags (smaller than A4) are allowed. As per the bag policy!! ????

If someone risks taking something bigger... and gets in with a laptop bag, good on them. I'd rather leave it somewhere or pay for a locker if there was no other way around it.

I was pulled up for bringing an A3 paper bag with something I'd bought.. Until I folded it in half!
