Whilst I agree, I want to see what difference better technical footballers make to how we are able to move the ball from our backline through our midfield and beat the opposition press.
Other than Man City (funded by a country) and the old Chelsea (funded by a oligarch) what English team these days signs ready made, top tier talent?
It rarely happens. Top PL stars are usually identified and coached to become stars. Salah and Mane were not already stars when Liverpool signed...
I think there’s a really good striker there. As others have said, if he (and the club) can sort out his injuries. Had it not been for his stop/start he would have a healthy goal return.
I do however think we still need to sign another striker. Cant just be Richy with Son as backup. Doesn’t work.
That says more about where those clubs are in comparison to Spurs, as opposed to Ange. He’s amassed a very respectable haul of points in his first season. That’s as much as we should read into it IMO.
Agree. But this isn't a lightswitch. You can't just turn it on and off over night. It's going to take time to make the changes for us to be a club that thinks like that. Which is what Ange is trying to do. Question is will the board support it. I hope the answer to that is yes.
I am fascinated to see how we conduct our business this summer. To watch what happens. Will it be a continuation of the (mostly) good recruitment we've done over the last couple of windows? or will it be a revert to previous and we sign mediocre players that the manager doesn't actually want...
Ange has been very clear already that he only wants players that want to be at the club for the right reasons. If Gallagher isn’t committed to the cause from the first conversation then I’m certain Ange won’t be backing it.
I am still in full support of Ange. But our starting line up today was poor.
I hope he gets a chance to reset in the summer. People will think I’m nuts but I don’t think we are a million miles away. We’ve been completely derailed by injuries and suspensions and it’s completely killed our...
I win! been a fan since the early 80's but who's counting.
The point made about a fickle fan base is not necessarily from what those on this forum are saying. More about what you will see if you venture on to social media (i wouldn't reccommend it, by the way).
Our fanbase is so fickle and weak sauce, not prepared to see through what is actually required in order to reach the intended destination.
Constantly changing the manager solves absolutely nothing. Show some bollocks FFS.
Reckon Ange has realised that Sonny is not a captain and is probably done as a regular starter. He should be benched and used as a super sub.
The harsh reality that I'm sure a lot won't want to hear.
Ange still has my full support. But he has some big decisions and conversations to have if he does want to carry on in charge and they need to happen now.
Changing the manager solves absolutely nothing. It's weak-sauce and typical of the fickle behaviour of this club and it's fans IMO.
