Maybe this one was the "lessons learnt" moment that brought about his stepping the fuck back regarding making these sorts of decisions?
Seems they've mainly used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefano_Sabelli as right wing back and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silvan_Hefti as back up. Latter moved on loan to Montpellier this window, so they've one at the moment and probably one that Spence ought to have talent to surpass.

Not that it’s of any consequence to me but I watched him play for Forest against Arsenal in a cup game and thought this guy is something special. Doesn’t cost me a penny though.

We’ve done well to get rid but I hope the option includes a sell on clause. I think he could do well in Italy and being away from home longer term could be the making of him. You can easily draw comparisons with Edwards and Sancho. If he does well and Genoa make it perm I think he’d attract suitors from the big boys in Serie A as well as clubs back in the PL who’d be willing to take a punt.
There’s a lot riding on this move though. This is really our last chance to recoup a decent fee and his last chance to salvage a top flight career.
