Fortunately for Macclesfield, they're rivals Altrincham play in the conference so they don't have to worry about Sol getting up to his old tricks

Was at the game vs Cambridge on Saturday. Played pretty well and created chances but were really lacking quality with the final ball. Macc had 3 or 4 chances I can remember where they should've scored but either took the wrong decision or just plain ballsed it up. All in all Sol has got them playing better. When they were nervous early on they reverted to type and kept lumping it to nobody but when they calm down and concentrate you can see he's coached them to play a much better passing game. Got a bit nervy for a while but luckily for Macc things worked out in the end. There was even a pitch-invasion at the end including flared and smokebombs would you believe. I'm not saying Sol is a great manager, but to be fair to him he's done a decent job with Macc. Not as spectacular as what Incey did but can't really fault him for most of it. If he's got any sense, he'll take a "better" league 2 job and work his way up slowly. Ince's problem is that he went from Macc to MK Dons to Blackburn in the space of about 18 months and it was all too much too quickly.

Can't help but feel the "high" from staying up will only last so long though. There are massive problems at the club, not just limited to the well-reported financial issues and players not being paid etc. The fans have been protesting against the owner/chairman, so much so that in true West Ham fashion they even closed off the section of the ground around where the owner sits because he keeps getting too much (well deserved) abuse from people.

Just as an example of how out of touch the bosses are, I was talking to a woman stood next to me and she was telling me her dad normall sits up in the block where the chairman is, and he's had a season ticket there for over 40 years, when they announced that that block would be closed they moved all the people who normally sit there onto the all-standing terrace. Anyway, this woman (his daughter) was telling me she'd called the club to explain he's an 87 year old who can't possibly stand in the terraces for 2 hours so could he please just have his normal seat. She even said he'd be happy to not wear any scarf or anything and just sit in the away section if need be, so he wouldn't miss the game. The club basically told them no, it was either the terraces or nothing, so he ended up missing the game. It's just ridiculous, a club like Macc who struggle to get people through the door as it is, should be bending over backwards for people like that who've been coming week in week out for decades. It's one thing to go to Man Utd week in week out, but it takes realy dedication to watch Macc Town for 40 years knowing the dross they've been putting out for most of that time. Anyway apparently this bloke has now said he's done with the club. He feels really upset by the way they've just treated him after all the loyalty he's shown them. It's already a struggle for him at his age to sit in the cold and watch the game but he suffers through it because he loves the club, but the attitude of the current chairman just shows that the club don't give a flying fuck about him in return so he's washing his hands of them. Sad really and a sorry reflection on the club.

Anyway, another rant from me over  Fuck knows what'll happen next season with Campbel. Can't imagine him wanting to stick around. For all we know the club might get wound up over the summer given all the financial issues anyway.

I reckon he'll quit this summer due to the financial situation and feeling he deserves something a little higher up the league now.

Well he has now gone, BBC reporting

Looks like he got out at he right time though - financially the club are in a complete mess.
Players threatened to boycott the final game of the season over unpaid wages.
They're now facing a winding-up order pushed through by former players who still haven't been paid.
Getting his wages off the finances will probably assist in paying a couple of players.

To be fair to him, he took a difficult job in the lower leagues and did well. Will be interesting to see what he does next.

Agree. That was my criticism, that he felt a job should be handed to him. But he's gone down and got experience under his belt. Will probably be offered another job now.
